CSP Case StudyUsing incentives to encourage recording of hours – Sports Partnership Herefordshire and Worcestershire Individual incentives • Sport Makers Adidas polo shirts - given to all Sport Makers once they’ve recorded 10+ hours (rather than at events). • Free ticket to a Worcester Warriors rugby match – given to all Sport Makers who record 10+ hours. The CSP either revisits Sport Makers (e.g. at college) or posts out prizes.

CSP Case StudyUsing incentives to encourage recording of hours – Sports Partnership Herefordshire and Worcestershire Additional incentives for specific groups The CSP revisits colleges to hand out Sport Makers t-shirts to those who’ve recorded 10+ hours. During these events, they promise a prize draw at a later date with prizes such as iTunes and HMV vouchers to those who have not yet reached 10 hours. Partner Incentives The CSP also offers £100 or a £150 bursary for coaching education to sports clubs who send five people to a Sport Makers event.

CSP Case StudyUsing incentives to encourage recording of hours – Sports Partnership Herefordshire and Worcestershire • The majority of Sport Makers took up the Worcester Warriors ticket incentive. • Holding back Sport Makers polo shirts to the end of the process has also proved successful. • Although it is difficult to accurately measure the impact of the above incentives, the CSP currently convert 58% of their attendance to deployment target. • Offering incentives to partners has been successful, with seven sports clubs having provided five Sport Makers each.

CSP Case StudyUsing incentives to encourage recording of hours – Sports Partnership Herefordshire and Worcestershire • Put time into it – Sports Partnership Herefordshire and Worcestershire have invested a lot of time in developing, implementing and coordinating their incentive programme. This has been critical to achieving 101% of their deployment target. • Offer individual and partner incentives - This helps recruitment to events and subsequent deployment. • Revisit Sport Maker groups – Returning to specific groups, such as colleges, four to five weeks after an event is a great way to reengage with Sport Makers, record their hours and hand out incentives. They are also a time-effective way to build and maintain a rapport with Sport Makers and partner organisations.
