  1. 1. Medical Resume Database by Paul Massell
  2. 2. "If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur."
  3. 3. Healthcare Industry • 5,724 - Number of Hospitals in the U.S. • 3.1 Million - Number of Registered Nurses in the United States • 195,941 - Professionally Active Dentists in the U.S. • Over 1,000 Open Medical/Healthcare jobs listed on Monster.com alone
  4. 4. Popular methods of finding candidates
  5. 5. Craigslist • Can be used to find candidates for any types of positions, however, it is common knowledge that 95% of the resumes you find on there are junk
  6. 6. LinkedIn • You can only find candidates who take the time to list all of their skills and abilities, which a lot of people do not do. It does not pull keywords from your resume
  7. 7. Dice • Dedicated resume database of IT job seekers. Provides no assistance to the healthcare industry
  8. 8. Monster • Boasts over 1,000,000 resumes, however many of them are outdated. Serves every industry
  9. 9. Medjump • Found after a few google searches. Poorly designed website. Not very active. Last twitter post was in 2011. Not well-known in the industry. Contains only 8,000 resumes and 200 open jobs, many outdated.
  10. 10. What Medical Resume Database will offer • Free resume posting for job seekers • Paid annual membership for employers/recruiters to have access to the resume database • Paid job advertisements for employers/recruiters to post
  11. 11. Types of Job Seekers who would use MRD • Nurses • Laboratory Technicians • Clinic Managers • Recent med-school graduates • Pharmacy Directors • Anyone looking for a job in the healthcare industry
  12. 12. Types of businesses that would use MRD • Hospitals • Private practices • Dentists offices • Universities with medical schools • Medical device companies • Recruiters/staffing companies
  13. 13. Cost • Employer/Recruiter membership to Monster or Dice can run up to $25,000 annually. And job postings cost from $200- $600. Pricing for MRD will cost about the same.
  14. 14. Needed to Get Started • A website • Marketing person • Sales person
  15. 15. Sources • http://www.aha.org/research/rc/stat-studies/fast-fac • http://nursingworld.org/NursingbytheNumbersFact • http://kff.org/other/state-indicator/total- dentists/
