working employees are recognized. The rewards program is where employees are given certain
benefits in recognition of their hard work and their contribution towards the success of the
business.

This program is very efficient since it gives the employees motivation to surpass their given
targets. Not all employees can get this reward meaning they will compete with each other to get
the recognition. The program comes with a variety of benefits for example being the employee
of the year, getting a promotion or an increase in salary. This will depend on the company
policy. Such benefits will entice the employees to work harder to get these privileges.

Better workmanship will improve or uplift the status of the business. It will become more
successful since more profits will be realized. Since there is motivation to work harder, it is

profession. Their ability to meet targets will mean they need to learn a lot. This hence will
improve their skills and will have the required experience to find a better job. Some rewards

after passing in this training; hence, their lives would improve.

There is assurance of quality work, thanks to this program. In most cases customers fill a small
questionnaire to comment on the quality of service given by a certain business. There are online
websites where a customer comments on the type of service given by a business. This way, the
employees will work better to ensure the negatives are as few as possible.

It is important for employers to note that this scheme should not be used every time as a means
to generate sales. Sometimes a simple “well done” comment will go a long way, giving
employees recognition for their hard work. This is because the business cannot sorely run on
giving rewards to its employees all the time. It would be unpredictable to keep the staff on toes.

It should be equally noted that employers should not make promises they cannot keep. If the
company cannot afford some rewards then they should find affordable ones that would fit their
budget. Employees take these schemes very seriously and failing to honor these promises
might lead to strikes or simply refusal to work efficiently. Promise what can be achieved.
The rewards program needs to be interesting and be able to solicit enthusiasm among
employees. This, however, does not mean it should go off budget. The advisable thing for an
owner to do is to have an evaluating team who would find out the needs of the employees. This
will ensure the success of the program. The team would also evaluate to see how much would
be required for a certain program. It would be a waste of time and money if an expensive
scheme was to be put in place and no one was interested. The team has to be people within the
business who can be trusted.


It would be advisable to create alliance with other business in order to find suitable prizes. If it’s
a vacation trip then the company should collaborate with a travel and tours company. Other
alternative alliances include restaurants, coffee shops, clothes boutiques, and supermarkets.
Such alliances will not only motivate employees to attain their goals but also advertise the
business in other sectors.


In conclusion, this program has its benefits. It equally has its weaknesses like some employees
feeling isolated. They should, thus, be given encouragement of how they can equally achieve
their targets and make it. This program has, in a greater percentage, uplifted the status of
people's businesses and become more profitable.
