  3. 3. Maya is industry-standard application also owned and developed by Autodesk. You have modeling, texturing, rigging and animation tools. Everything that goes into creating 3D elements for your game, and with the recent push for better modeling tools. Maya also has some great tools designed for game development workflows. Like an extremely easy export of your 3D models and animations straight to a Unity project folder.
  4. 4. o Animation is the process of making the illusion of motion and change by means of the rapid display of a sequence of static images that minimally differ from each other. The illusion—as in motion pictures in general is thought to rely on the phi phenomenon. Animators are artists who specialize in the creation of animation. o Animation can be recorded with either analogue media, a flip book, motion picture film, video tape, digital media, including formats with animated GIF, Flash animation and digital video. To display animation, a digital camera, computer, or projector are used along with new technologies that are produced.
  5. 5. o The phi phenomenon is the optical illusion of perceiving a series of still images, when viewed in rapid succession, as continuous motion. o Max Wertheimer defined this phenomenon in 1912.
  6. 6. o Traditional animation involved animators drawing by hand for each and every frame. o If you love the feel of pencils on a paper, then the traditional approach is very fascinating. o Traditional animation is creating the drawings one by one on the frame. o 2D animation involves creating numerous drawings then hand painting them and create the animated sequence on a painted background image.
  7. 7. o Creating animations in the 2 dimensional space with the help of digital technologies is known as digital 2d animation. o You don’t need to create digital models, you just need to draw the frames. o Create 100s of drawing and animating them to show some kind of movement is technically known as digital 2d animation. o Using Adobe flash, animators can limit the number of drawings used, which makes them easier to create digital 2d animation. Small variations like changing the color or frame rate can be changed almost instantly, thus making it easier for the animators to work on.
  8. 8. o If you are interested in making the unreal characters into a realistic one, then it’s Digital 3d animation. o Digital 3d animation characters are much faster to create and they are quite popular in the movie making industry. o Comparing to 2D animation and the traditional approach, 3d animation models are highly realistic.
  9. 9. o Stop motion is an animation technique that physically manipulates an object that appears to move on its own. o The object is moved in small increments between individually photographed frames, creating the illusion of movement when the series of frames is played as a continuous sequence.
  10. 10. o Puppetry animation is created using the life like puppets instead of objects o Nowadays puppet animation is most commonly used in children’s cartoons and films.
  11. 11. o If you like to play with clay then this is of the best forms of stop motion created in Claymation. In this Claymation, pieces of clay are molded to create characters and based on the imagination of the animator, a story is unfolded. o There are oil based and water based clays available.
  12. 12. o Cut – Out animation is probably one of the oldest forms of stop motion animations in the history of animation. o In this method paper cut outs are moved under the camera lens to say a story. o Ever since the evolution of computers, it was much easier to introduce the computerized cut images in a queue.
  13. 13.  A character rig is essentially a digital skeleton bound to the 3D mesh. Like a real skeleton, a rig is made up of joints and bones, each of which act as a "handle" that animators can use to bend the character into a desired pose.
  14. 14.  Rendering is the process of generating an image from a 2D or 3D model (or models in what collectively could be called a scene file) by means of computer programs. Also, the results of such a model can be called a rendering.
