Fully Supports Environment Hub. PDEs can be created, and cloned right from within Environment Hub. Enable single sign (SSO) to easily switch between Orgs and never have to worry about forgetting passwords. Supports Trialforce. By cloning your PDE, you can continue develop of your master demo without risking breaking something. Your SEs can each have their own personal copy of your firms demo for client customization. Create Managed Packages. Only developer editions have the ability to create and update manage packages. Use the PDE to control all your manage packages. PDE Benefits

The PDE is a completely blank environment, so getting started on your demo will require loading or creating demo data. Does not contain every Salesforce product or feature you may need. To add Service Cloud and other Salesforce features a case must be opened on the partner community requesting additional licenses. CPQ requires installing the managed package. Does not contain demo tooling. The PDE lacks the demo tools contained in the SDO, therefore demo setup could take longer. PDE Limitations

  9. 9. 1010 What are the limitations of the SDO? Expires in a short amount time The SDO expires after 30 days. If you are working on an opportunity or have a business case for an extension, this requires opening a case from the Partner Community and could take several days. Does not automatically update The only way to get the latest version of SDO with new features and bug fixes requires spinning up a whole new SDO. New SDOs are released approximately every three weeks. The SDO is complex Unless you have been trained on the SDO and practice your demo, it’s easy to get lost making our solution look harder not easier SDO Limitations Does not support development of managed applications Only developer editions such as the PDE can be used to develop your manage packages. Does not support Trialforce The SDO is not a good place to develop complex reusable demos because there is no way to clone your work. Customers can not touch the SDO Under no circumstances can a customer touch the SDO. The SDO contains tools which customers are not allowed to see. If your customer needs some hands-on time use a different type of environment.

As part of the process, you will need to provide a landing page, demo script and detailed instructions for our SEs to use to demo your solution from the SDO. We will provide an SDO so that you can build and test your demo. Boost (AMER) and Elite Trailhead (EMEA) Work on presales opportunities which have been assigned by your Salesforce GTM.
