  4. 4. HELP SUPPORT M&M MINISTRIES WITH A “BUCK A WEEK.” Thank you to all who have consistently given their buck a week in support of our women’s ministry. M&M (Mary & Martha) Women’s Ministry is self-supportive and needs your help to continue providing programs to our women. “Buck a Week” envelopes are available at the Women’s Ministry Counter. OUTSIDE OPPORTUNITIES FREE FOOD FOR LOW INCOME FAMILIES The Ottawa Co. Community Action Agency will be distributing food to low income families in Ottawa County on Friday, May 30, at 345 West 14th Street in Holland. Pick up an informational sheet at the Growth & Outreach Counter. HAPPY TOWN CHRISTIAN TRAVELERS Happy Town Christian Travelers invites you to join them on June 2 for a trip to Fair Oaks Farms and The Shrine of Christ’s Passion. Pick up a flyer at the Women’s Ministry Counter or talk to Mary Walters at 786-9242. LIFEWALK Lakeshore Pregnancy Center is sponsoring Lifewalk on Saturday, June 7, at 9:00 a.m. starting at Kollen Park in Holland. The walk is to raise awareness, to protect the unborn, and to show compassion to women and men who will face or have faced an unexpected pregnancy in their lives. Walkers, volunteers and donations are needed. Signup for the walk will be available next Sunday at the church. Please see Cris Hoppa for details! WOMEN’S RETREATS Grace Adventures is offering women’s retreats on three weekends: Sept. 26-28, Oct. 3-5 and Oct. 10-12. The cost is $114 all inclusive and the main speakers are Sandy Ralya, founder and director of Beautiful Womanhood for the September date and Dr. RoseAnn Coleman, a very humorous Bible teacher, for the October dates. SENIOR HIGH EVENTS Jr. High Youth Group Wed. at 6:30 p.m. We will be “preparing for the harvest!” Come and help Zach Caruth prepare the new Parkside garden! Games-Lesson-Snacks! The lesson tonight will be “Finish Strong.” Come for dinner, games and prizes! Sr. High Youth Group Next Sunday, May 25 If you’re not attending the Jesus Culture Concert, plan to join the youth group at a bonfire and BBQ at Tom, Vicki and Nathaniel Strobel’s home from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Meet at their home: 270 East 24th Street in Holland. Sign up at the youth counter to bring a dish to pass. For more details, talk to the Zandstra’s. JUNIOR HIGH HAPPENINGS Be sure to pick up your summer schedule at the youth counter! ATTENTION: PARENTS OF 5TH GRADERS: There will be a special “Welcome to Youth Group Party” on June 4. All who are completing 5th grade are invited to participate in Jr. High Youth Group.   5. 5. Get in shape with the Parkside Runners/Walkers! Join them every Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Mt. Pisgah for some exercise and fellowship. The entrance to Mt. Pisgah is next to Dune Dogs on Ottawa Beach Road. You can either run the 239 steps and the 1.3 mile trail or take your time walking. It’s a beautiful view of Lake Mac and Lake Michigan from the top! For more information, contact Tony Van Houten, Rex DeBoer, or the church office. The Holland Sentinel is donating Sunday newspapers to the church in support of youth outreach. If you would like to support this cause by making a donation for the paper, the newspaper rack is located in the front entranceway. THE 2ND ANNUAL PARKSIDE PURE 5K HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO JUNE 14! Registration forms are available at the Youth Counter or you can signup online at active.com for Parkside’s 5K event starting at the church at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 14. (Register early..the cost is $15 for children and teens and $20 for adults if you sign up by June 5. After that date, the prices go up $5. All proceeds will benefit 2014 youth mission trips to Harrisburg, PA and the Philippines. Invite your friends! Questions, see Pastor Matt. VBS NEWS & NEEDS! EARLY REGISTRATION CONTEST: Register your children, grandchildren, friends and neighbors BEFORE JUNE 1 to enter into a drawing for prizes! You will get 1 entry per PBC child/self and 2 entries for a non-PBC child. A special gift will also be given to a child/adult who has registered the highest number of children! Vacation Bible School will be held Monday through Friday, June 16-20, from 9:15 a.m. to noon for kids entering Kindergarten through 6th grade this fall. VBS NEEDS: We still need Adult Group Guides for VBS and nursery helpers for Monday and Thursday. If you can help even for one day, it would be helpful. Please sign up today at the VBS Table. OUTREACH: We are working with area organizations such as Victory Point Ministries, Neighborhood Plus (Harderwyk Ministries), Boy Scouts of America, and Macatawa Area Residents in Action in hosting a community building/family outreach event “School’s Out Party” at Leisure Estates on Saturday, June 7, from noon to 3:00 p.m. For the outreach event, we are in need people who can help with the 10 a.m. to noon setup, volunteer check-in and T-shirt distribution and collection, a person to oversee the food department (hotdogs, chips, lemonade, popcorn and ice cream), from noon-3:00 p.m., nail artists, face painters, kid’s activity helpers, a Bingo assistant and 3:00 p.m. cleanup. We also need donations of Bingo prizes and other items. Please stop by the Outreach Station located by the front door to help out or see Zach Caruth, our Parkside Representative for this event. Please check out all the items on the tables in the Fellowship Area to see if anything belongs to your or your family! If you’re fairly new to Parkside but attending regularly, we’d love to take your picture and put it on our Church Family Board located in the hallway outside the kitchen.
