• Main Idea: Animal testing is commonly used by researcher or scientist every day.
• Issue: Many companies test their new products before they sell them, and a lot of these
products are tested on animal first.
• Thesis Statement: Animal testing is one of tests which can make sure that products are safe,
so it should be done.
2. Reasoning
• Rewording TS: Each year, many researchers use more than 20 million mice, monkeys,
rabbits, and other animal to make sure that new products are safe for human lives.
• Reason:
a. They need animal testing to find cures for diseases.
- To find the vaccines for smallpox and rabies.
- To find the medicine for polio.
b. Animal testing let scientists try out new medical techniques such as heart transplants.
c. Many medicines are also tested on animal before they are used.
3. Refutation
• Opponent’s argument: Many animals suffer or die during the tests.
• Refute that argument:
a. Saving human lives is more important than animals.
b. Without animal testing we would not have vaccines for dangerous diseases.
c. It is legal as long as for real medical purpose.
