  2. 2. Goals for Workshop<br />Provide Participants with ideas and strategies for teaching in web based environments, especially with regard to:<br /><ul><li>Teaching basic communication skills
  3. 3. Coordinating field education/practicum
  4. 4. Creating learning communities</li></li></ul><li>Model the use of technology for:<br /><ul><li>Asynchronous communication using blogs and discussion forms
  5. 5. Synchronous communication using audio/visual over the internet
  6. 6. Sharing of resources using text documents, web pages, video, audio and video/audio clips</li></li></ul><li>Model a constructivist approach to learning through:<br /><ul><li>Encouraging participants to identify their own learning goals and use the workshop to address those goals

  10. 10. Pam <br />My interest in integrating technology in teaching and learning in social work comes from an interest in preparing students to be leaders in integrating it in practice.<br />
  11. 11. BJ<br />This pictures could come from the state I was born in, Indiana. It was a grade 5 teacher in that state where I first begin to become interested in helping students learn through the use of technology.<br />
  12. 12. Never too late to be an eLearning teacher/learner<br />These two faculty are part of a workshop on integrating technology into teaching and learning.<br />
  13. 13. How can we get this kind of engagement online?<br />Cheryl moir-van iersel created a podcast to share her experience and ideas about creating community online. She also shares what online students have told her about what helps them be engaged learners online. Listen to the podcast, think of this picture and how this would look like online.<br />
  14. 14. Teaching communication skills online<br />Phil Jones has taught interviewing to undergraduates online. He has created a voice over PowerPoint presentation to share some of his experiences and ideas with teaching online. View and listen to his presentation and think about this picture. How would you get students to engage in practicing communication skills online?<br />
