  • 7. The tools available today support a reconceptualization of literacy and more expanded definition. Now the term is plural: “literacies”. This suggests the large diversity of meanings that derive from the social and cultural practices empowered by the tools available, and which allow for a more participatory approach.
  • 8. • “Literacy as I am using the term is definitely a skill. But solitary skills are not enough today. Literacy now means skill plus social competency in using that skill collaboratively” • (Rheingold, 2013, p. 4)
