  12. 12. <ul><li>R-E-S-P-E-C-T (Cont.) </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Electronic Devices </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>ALL electronic devices must be put away BEFORE you enter the classroom; it’s DISRESPECTFUL for you to be texting, listening to music, etc. while the teacher is teaching </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>If the teacher asks you for your iPod, phone, etc., even if you were just checking the time , hand it over </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>If you have to be sent to an office to deal with an electronic device issue, expect to lose the device for a week </li></ul></ul></ul>
  13. 13. <ul><li>R-E-S-P-E-C-T (Cont.) </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Dress Code </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>You need to dress for success; Gang attire, clothing that shows your undergarments, shirts with inappropriate words or images, etc. are DISRESPECTFUL to your teacher, your classmates, and, most importantly, to yourself </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Repeated dress code violations will result in ASWP, ALC, and even suspension </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>You can’t go wrong with Kaiser gear. Visit the Cat’s Meow, our Student Store in H-110, for the latest Kaiser style </li></ul></ul></ul>
  14. 14. <ul><li>R-E-S-P-E-C-T (Cont.) </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Profanity </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>The words that come out of your mouth give those around you an impression of what type of person you are; make sure you represent yourself well </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Bad words, dirty jokes, etc. are DISRESPECTFUL to your teacher and your classmates; they could also have you facing sexual harassment charges </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Think BEFORE you speak </li></ul></ul></ul>

  18. 18. <ul><li>R-E-S-P-E-C-T (Cont.) </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Graffiti </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Do NOT etch, write on, or “slap tag” any school or private property; it is DISRESPECTFUL to your peers that share this school with you and to the thousands of hard-working citizens who pay taxes to clean up your mess </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Expect a suspension, ticket, and possible arrest if you are involved in any type of graffiti or vandalism </li></ul></ul></ul>
  19. 19. <ul><li>R-E-S-P-E-C-T (Cont.) </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Drugs and Alcohol </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Do NOT bring, use, hold on to, or sell any drug or alcoholic beverage; it is DISRESPECTFUL to your teachers, fellow students, and to your parents or guardians </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Drug and alcohol use is the quickest way to ruin your chances of graduating </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>School is difficult enough with a clear mind; it’s almost impossible to be successful when you’re under the influence of drugs or alcohol </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Expect a suspension and ticket or arrest if you are involved with drugs or alcohol on campus </li></ul></ul></ul>
  20. 20. <ul><li>R-E-S-P-E-C-T (Cont.) </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Weapons / Dangerous Objects </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Do NOT bring, use, or hold on to any weapon or dangerous object in school; it’s DISRESPECTFUL to your peers and to the adults that work on this campus </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>There is ABSOLUTELY NO valid reason to bring a knife, brass knuckles, etc. to school </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>If you fear for your safety, let a responsible adult know; they will help you properly deal with your safety concern </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>*Four out of five times, the person who tries to use a weapon against a group gets the weapon taken away and it is used on him/her </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Expect a recommendation for expulsion and arrest if you are found with a weapon / dangerous object on campus </li></ul></ul></ul>
  21. 21. <ul><li>R-E-S-P-E-C-T (Cont.) </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Fighting / Violence </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Fighting, arguments, and other violence, either physical or verbal, will NOT be tolerated at Kaiser High School; this behavior is probably THE most DANGEROUS and DISRESPECTFUL behavior you can be involved in </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>If you have an issue with another student or group of students, your teachers, counselors, campus security officers, school police officer, and principals will do everything possible to help you resolve your issue WITHOUT making you seem like a “rat” </li></ul></ul></ul>
  22. 22. <ul><li>R-E-S-P-E-C-T (Cont.) </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Fighting / Violence (Cont.) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Be wise; most of the time, “self defense” begins DAYS before the actual physical incident </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>The best, most effective self defense is to let a responsible adult help you resolve your conflict </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>If you are involved in a physical or verbal conflict, you run the risk of ASWP, ALC, suspension, or even expulsion; you could also receive a ticket or be arrested </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>80% of the time a conflict begins because of a misunderstanding or “he-said-she-said” </li></ul></ul></ul>
