But the recent global meltdown has been showing a significant effect on the Indian IT and BPO sector. This is evident from the decline in the demand for telemarketing and IT support. </li></ul>

As the Indian IT and BPO industry draws most of its revenues (about 60%) from the US, the segment is expected to lose many more jobs in the near future. This is creating certain ambiguity in the IT and BPO job seekers in India. </li></ul>

Driven by the English proficient and high tech-savvy urban workforce who work at much lower wages when compared to western and American counterparts, the sector is expected to rebound back in a short period. It is even expected to grow at a great pace once the world global economy rebounds. </li></ul>
