  • Bullying- a tough issue and there are a lots of ways parents can help a child who is being bullied. Parents should create an open, honest and supportive environment. Encourage your child to talk about what’s happening. Let them know that you’ll help them figure out what to do and encourage your child to be assertive rather than aggressive when confronted by a bully. As a way of helping everyone especially the parents, who still find it quite hard to manage issues like this, I found this great application which featured safety app which gets me connected to a Safety Network or escalate my call to the nearest 911 when needed, it has other cool features that are helpful for your kids with just a press of a Panic Button. Does Bullying Vary Between Genders• Answer: How did you decide on that question• I decided on this question because I thinks girls are the root of all evil and they created bullying.• What did you do to narrow/broaden your topic?• I did extensive pre searching I looked through a lot of library catalogs and databases.

  6. 6. Evaluation process• How did you decide that the three sources you discussed were credible and relevant to your project.• The article and the book were both written by professors and scholars from universities and the website was done by a novelist with twenty five years of experience.

  8. 8. What is Cyberbullying and what arethe effects?• This is a form of bullying• It is a newer form of bullying because of technological advances• I narrowed the topic down from bullying in general to virtual bullying

  15. 15. “The psychological effects ofbullying” (Answer: How did you decide on that question (what did you do to narrow/broaden your topic?))• I believe that this question was important in order to understand the psychological problems that come from bullying even after the bullying has stopped. Also to show the different problems that affect the victim’s life during the bullying process either at work, school, or everyday life. I was able to narrow the question from effects of bullying to psychological effects of bullying as I believe this would be a more interesting topic as these effects can be long lasting and can go unnoticed if a cause such as bullying is unknown and not addressed correctly. I was able to broaden the topic to include bullying not only in school, but at work and at home as well.
  16. 16. By revealing the psychological effectsof bullying, the public can see thevalue of bullying prevention. (What is your argument? (How did you answer your research question?))• My position is to bring awareness and explain the psychological effects of bullying in order to allow others to see problems that can come from it. I also wanted to show that bullying not only happens at school, but at the workplace later on in life and at home. To bring awareness to it’s problems and how serious they can be in hopes of more people taking action and working on solutions on reducing bullying in all aspects of life. Bullying can also take more subtle forms in which the effects aren’t as apparent even to the victim(s) but can also have long-lasting effects such as joking.

Evaluation Process How did you decide that the three sources you discussed were credible and relevant to your project?• All of the resources I choose were relevant to the position that was proposed more so then other’s that dealt with bullying and listed it’s psychological effects and problems associated with it.• I also looked to sources of authority such as which as an information source is ranked highly over other website sources.• The author’s credibility was also important with many having PHD’s and/or serving high positions in organizations dealing with the topic.
