Concept of Beacon Sites • The term ‘Beacon Site’ is used to describe sites that do not have WLS hardware installed at the site and whose BCCH is received at an acceptable level by a neighboring site that does have a WLS installed. • In order for the Beacon Site feature to work, the BCCH and BSIC of the GSM Beacon Site must be received at the BCCH antenna of a Sync Site at an acceptable level as defined separately. Field tests carried out to validate theoretical design prior to formal approval. • Neighboring WLS sites will be tasked to calculate location of calls originated on the Beacon Site • The Beacon Site entry in the CID is needed for documentation purposes only; no DS0 required. omoreno@hotmail.com 33 One Company. Ericsson Swap Acceptance Procedure • Andrew Pre-Swap Data: – In order for Andrew to properly support the swap three documents are needed prior to the night of the swaps • CID (provided by Cingular Transport Engineering) • TVW (provided to Cingular by Intrado) • BSC Dump (provided by Cingular Network Engineering) – These documents need to be submitted on a weekly basis 1 week prior to the swap date. Ericsson Swap Acceptance Procedure – contd. • Andrew Post-Swap Data: – Before formal acceptance the following data needs to submitted to Andrew • GCS As built template with accurate field data supplied within 24 hours. This document will be loaded by the support engineer from Andrew. • MDT (Market Data Template) with accurate data supplied within 1 week. Brief Process Description for Acceptance Testing (reuse of WLS) • WLS States at Time of Cut Over – To collect lost timing information in order to update GPS almanac in WLS, 10-15 minutes spent after WLS powered up (after cut) while WLS state shows FAIL in GCS – Once process complete, WLS reboots and comes ONLINE • ON, ONLINE and ACTIVE leds should glow at this time – WLS OK/ONLINE in GCS menu • Active DS0 connectivity, updated GPS timing, functional hardware inside WLS omoreno@hotmail.com 38 One Company. Provisional and Final Acceptance – Functional Tests • Provisional Acceptance (PH II, FT, passed DL&D, DL) – Setup call trace for Phase II verification • Confirm GCS supplying appropriate (Phase II) coordinates – Andrew does not control /assure that the PSAP would see the Phase II data, as routing to PSAP involves the MSC and the Intrado (MPC) elements. Cingular/Ericsson shall ensure that the implementations in those elements are complete and accurate. • Final Acceptance – GPS receiver in WLS put into self-survey mode for 10,000 fixes (3 hours taken, result updated within 24 hours of cut) omoreno@hotmail.com 40 One Company.
