Obedience to Abundance

you may grow up in your salvation, 3 now that you
have tasted that the Lord is good.” I Peter 2:1-3**

7 Ways of Apprenticeship to Master Jesus
* Choosing to be His apprentice in
eternal living,
* Abandoning the outcomes,
* Developing Kingdom eyes to see
and ears to hear,
* Practicing what He taught,
* Joining where He is at work,
* Sensing if He were born today, He
could live my life, and
* Asking…

~ The Kingdom of God at Work @ Work ~
When you’re thinking about whole life discipleship, the problem is
going to be what you take discipleship to be. The greatest barrier to
whole life discipleship is the theory of salvation that does not include
it. You may just decide to enjoy the ride to Heaven and not worry about
anything else. “Thank you Jesus. I’ll see you in Heaven later. I’ll get on
with my life.”
Take Jesus’ presence as an apprentice to live in the Kingdom of God
like He does. All of the tasks I undertake at WORK, I undertake with
Jesus at my elbow. God is present in my life through Jesus the Son. He
is my teacher. He is the one I am learning from constantly as I go
through life.
This inﬁnitely powerful love is present wherever we are. God at WORK
where we are in nature, history, social processes, economy, WORK. God
is always at WORK. Important to think this if we are going to take Him
to WORK. Recognize He is already there.

Obedience is Love
!“In the last judgment we shall not be asked how learned we
were or whether we displayed our learning before the
world; to what extent we enjoyed the favor of men and
knew how to keep it; with what honor we were exalted and
how great a reputation in the world we left behind us; or
how many treasures of earthly goods we amassed for our
children and thereby drew a curse upon ourselves.
Instead we shall be asked how faithfully and with how
childlike a heart we sought to further the Kingdom of God;
with how pure and godly a teaching and how worthy an
example we tried to edify our hearers amid the scorn of the
world, denial of self, take up the the cross, and imitation of
our Savior.”

“What will it look like for you to practice as an
apprentice of the Master?”

“The further up and the further in you go,
the bigger everything gets.”

Aslan turned to them and said: “You do not yet look so happy as I
mean you to be.”
Lucy said, “We’re so afraid of being sent away, Aslan. And you have
sent us back into our own world so often.”
“No fear of that,” said Aslan. “Have you not guessed?” Their hearts
leaped, and a wild hope rose within them. “There was a real railway
accident,” said Aslan softly. “Your father and mother and all of you
are—as you used to call it in the Shadowlands— dead. The term is
over: the holidays have begun. The dream is ended: this is the
morning.”
And as He spoke He no longer looked to them like a lion; but the
things that began to happen after that were so great and beautiful
that I cannot write them. And for us this is the end of all the stories,
and we can most truly say that they all lived happily ever after. But
for them it was only the beginning of the real story. All their life in
this world and all their adventures in Narnia had only been the
cover and the title page: now at last they were beginning Chapter
One of the Great Story which no one on Earth has read: which goes
on forever: in which every chapter is better than the one before.
