The Boundaries of Think-Aloud as Practiced by Teacher Educators <ul><li>Teacher educators use think-alouds to assist their student-teachers understand how teaching and learning interact by presenting aspects of their pedagogical decision making and showcasing these for discussion, analysis and criticism. This study was carried out simultaneously by teacher educators in Israel, Australia, and Canada. Self-construction in Computer-Mediated Discourse: Theoretical and methodological perspectives <ul><li>The lecture r will present s and illustrate s the theoretical and methodological frameworks of a discourse-oriented approach to the study of self-construction in computer-mediated discourse (CMD). The approach foregrounds the process of discursive positioning – a central theoretical construct and a methodological principle. It also shows how micro- and macro-levels of analysis can be integrated in the exploration of self-construction in CMD. </li></ul>Prof. Kupferberg is a professor of discourse analysis at Levinsky College of Education, Tel Aviv, Israel, where she founded the Shahak Institute for Language, Society and Communication, chaired the M.Ed. program &quot;Language Education in a Multi-cultural Society&quot; and the English department.   5. 5. The Bilingual Brain: Lexical organization and cognitive consequences <ul><li>Knowing more than one language is typical for life in the 21 st century. Brain-based research on bilingualism attempts to understand how the brain organizes two (or more) languages, which representations are shared across languages and which are unique.
