Treatment for my Short Film

1. Short Film Treatment
For my A2 MediacourseworkIwill be constructingaShort film, 5 minutesinlength.Itisintendedfor
teenager,mainlyforthe male audience.The purpose of the filmisjusttobe an entertainmentpiece
that my audience canjustsit downfor 5 minutesandforgetaboutwhat theyneedtodo forthe day
or have done duringthe day.I choose the genre of actionas it a particle favourite kindof genre to
mine soI knowI wouldputmy heartintothe project,tryingtomake it the bestI can. Thisiswhy I
didn'tfollowmytargetresearchas I knew the productwouldbe popularwithpeopleinschool,I
wouldnotbe full investedinthe product,whichcouldresultinapoor product.
The whole filmwill be takenonbyme.Iwill be takingthe role of writer,cameraman, editorand
director.The whole filmwill alsoonlybe filmedusingasingle camerasetup,as I onlyhave one
camera at my disposal touse.AlsoasI have to filmeverythingitwouldbe impossibleforme to
control a multi-camerasetup.

The filmisabout gettingridof yourdemonsto become somethingbetter.The filmstartsoff witha
newsreporton the 10 o’clock.The newsreporteristellingthe cityaboutanincidentthathappened
10 hours ago,whichisthe restof the plotfor the film.Thenitcutsto Jason RyanchasingLewis
througha fieldtowardsawoodlocateda couple of milesoutside the city.WhenLewisgoesintothe
wood,JasoncallsOllie forbackupandinformation.The twohave averybrief conversationasJason
can't lose Lewis.Thenhe entersthe forestwere LewisissearchingdesperatelyforJason.Jason

Alex walksoutandthe two beginaconversation. Alexrevelshimself tobe Jason’swife’skiller,the
man Jasonhad huntedforthe past 6 months. The conversationresultsinafistand knife fight.The
fightendswithJason shootingAlexinthe headwithagun whichhe has hiddeninhisboot.

For the newsroomandHideoutIwill be usingthe dramastudioat school to create these locations,I
will have topre-bookthese roombeforehand.Thenforthe fieldandwoodIwill be usingthe fields
behindthe backof myhouse,asit will be free andeasyto access.The fieldalsooffersaneasy
transitionbetweenlocationswhichisimportanttothe film.
Cost:
The filmwill be lowbudgetandself-funded,all the equipmentisprovidedbyme,whichIhave
gatheredoverthe year.The onlycost will be onpropsand costume.The filmwill take amonthto
create whichwill includedfilmingandeditingaswriting wascompletedduringthe summerholidays.
Thistime frame givesme aroundtwoweeksforbothcomponent. 2 weeksforfilmingand2 weeks
for editing.
