Today’s presentation is NOT how to make pretty slides.Goal: how to EFFECTIVELY communicate your message with audience @ conference, presentation etc. Informal presentation
- Using PPT since 1998. This presentation is based on my experience in a company & academic institutions. (Generally speaking, Corporate=persuasive/selling stuff; Academic= conveying info.) So, in other words, I will talk about how we can connect both worlds.BTW, keynote speech or potential donors left side
I have a question. Could you tell me the name of the fonts? Sans serif For screen Serif for printed document
So adding contrast helps audience to recognise important points quick.
Need to have contrast
Using visuals add“spice” to your presentation. Clip art is amaturish, Photograph looks more professional. But, here’s caution. You cannot put random pictures. It will take time to find appropriate photos.
Using pictures does not necessarily good. You can see 3 photos in a slide. Looks messy. Here’s makeover example.
Using visuals does not limit to photos. How LIS students’ teaching skills are evaluated.
Here’s another example
Be subtle + think about purpose. I don’t use page transition much now. But, you can use this for moving from different sections. Don’t use too much. Makes audience really dizzy.
Again, this is text animation.
Don’t distract your audience from your talk.
Of course, animation can be really powerful if you use properly.
