Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral Florida. </li></ul><ul><li>Located in the Sun Belt. The Sun Belt stretches from Florida to California. </li></ul><ul><li>States in the Sun Belt have a mild climate all year long. </li></ul>

Southeast <ul><li>Oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico </li></ul><ul><li>Another name for oil is petroleum. </li></ul><ul><li>Oil is used to make petrochemicals. </li></ul><ul><li>Oil workers build huge rigs to hold their machinery. </li></ul><ul><li>Cotton Plantation in Natchez, Mississippi </li></ul><ul><li>Plantation is a large farm. </li></ul><ul><li>Many slaves worked on these plantations. </li></ul><ul><li>The Civil War ended slavery. </li></ul>
