That's why O2 have launched the Local Government Digital Fund, with up to £250k up for grabs for local authorities that put forward the best ideas for digital engagement.

The Local Government Digital Fund Inspiration: Get closer to citizens and communities through innovative use of digital technology Improve workforce effectiveness, with secure digital networks, devices and tools that transform front-line service delivery Cut out wasteful processes, with technology like machine-to-machine (for example smart metering)

  13. 13. Key action points Last date for bids is 21 January 2014 How to enter: • Download and complete an application form • Put any supporting material in a ZIP file • Register at lgdf.business-o2.co.uk • Upload your completed form and the ZIP file

Key points to remember • All bids will be scrutinised by an independent panel of judges • Qualifying bids will go through to a Dragon‟s Den-style final presentation • At the judges‟ discretion, the whole fund may be awarded to one entry • The judges‟ decision is final Awards of up to • £50,000 • £75,000 • £125,000 will be made, or even the full £250,000
