Read case studies how New Zealand secondary school teachers are working with road safety as an authentic context to engage students while meeting the expectations of the New Zealand Curriculum and NCEA.
Many of these teachers have adapted curriculum resources from education.nzta.govt.nz. These are freely available for teachers to download, modify and use to suppport classroom learning. NCEA assessment resources are quality assured by the NZQA.
The case study collection is fronted by an article written by NZCER chief researcher Rosemary Hipkins. She discusses the challenges and opportunities in using context effectively to enrich student learning.
These case studies were first published in newsletter to schools from the NZ Transport Agency.
