The 3D world is your stage How can scholars collaborate in virtual environments in a manner similar to video- conferencing?  Conferencing and distributed modelling tools for research and collaboration in the spatial and artefactual humanities.  needs, issues and promising services and working prototypes.

(..not so easy)..  A place can have a distinct theme, atmosphere, and contextually related artefacts.*  Some places have the capacity to overawe.  Place has the power to evoke memories and associations.  Place has the capability to act as either stage or framework in which communal and individual activity can ‘take place’.  Place has the ability to transmit the cultural intentions of individual participants and social ‘bodies’. * Placeisaprocessnota product,and can consistof multipleinterpretations, conflicts, andauniquecombination of borrowedhistories.(Doreen Massey).
