oncerning the most
momentous and highly
anticipated eminent return
of Christ, it has in the recent past
literallybecomealmostproverbial
to read the word of God speak of
things as near and justnear and justnear at hand.
The word of God has done this
purely for the express purpose of
enunciating the enormity and
certainty of that gargantuan day
of reckoning. Instilled in that
biblically most central prophecy
on Christʼs return, is the
admonition that foretells of the
great change that would be
imperative in order to restore and
make all things right. “ʻIn a little
while I will once more shake the
heavens and the earth, the sea and
the dry land. I will shake all
nations, and the desired of all
nations will come, and I will fill
this house with glory,ʼ says the
LORD Almighty. . . (Haggai 2:6-
8). With these profound words,profound words,profound
the LORD essentially put His
signature on the interlude in
which He would literally deliver
the nations of the earth into a
stern dispensation of purification.
JEHOVAH intended that such a

process achieve all the standards
that befit the true hallmarks of
extreme anguish, non-relenting
distress and incapacitating pangs.
Though the LORD Jesus referred
to the distress of today as the
beginnings of birthpain,
nonetheless their occurrence was
wellintendedtocalibrateaseason
in which sooner than later, all
sinners would become mourners;
while repenting sinners would
look unto Christ Jesus and mourn
after a holy sort. Such a biblically
promised shaking of the nations
is what has today eventually
caught up with mankind as the
LORD purges off decay.
Nonetheless, by pledging such a
phenomenal distress and anguish
of all time, the LORD did not fall
short of highlighting the great
escape that penitent sinners shallpenitent sinners shallpenitent
see in that hour. Godʼs most
resolute standard yardstick ofyardstick ofyardstick
holiness would then ensure that
the remorseful whoremorseful whoremorseful sow in the
bitter tears of repentance, would
shortly begin reaping in abundant
joy unspeakable at rapture. In his
holy script, Daniel the Prophet of
the LORD, recapitulated the recordrecapitulated the recordrecapitulated
distress that would clench the
entire earth, to the extent that the
impenitent sinners, though theyimpenitent sinners, though theyimpenitent
laugh now, shall mourn and weep
in endless horror and despair ofdespair ofdespair
the great tribulation and hell. By
now, it is abundantly clear to
zealous observers of endtime
revival, that Danielʼs most

the Holy Spirit not only to define
the fierceness of todayʼs global
distress, but also to honour Godʼs
elect on thatelect on thatelect material day.material day.material Though
scattered across the face of thettered across the face of thettered
earth like little dots on a map,
when that great day of gathering
comes, there shall not one of the
elect be left out ofelect be left out ofelect rapture. The
LORD is using this to say, that for
his righteous elect whose nameselect whose nameselect
are found written in the book, the
distance of place shall keep none
of them out of heaven. In a similar
reference to the beloved nation of
Israel, the LORD underscored that
never should the Jews ever cease
to be a distinct people until all
things predicted have been madepredicted have been madepredicted
right. Considering the February
27, 2010 historic magnitude 8.8
earthquake in Chile, and the
horrific double-whammy dual
earthquakes in China, there
would be no better way to decree
that the commencement of the
long-awaited beginning of
birthpangsbirthpangsbirth are here and at hand.
By the sheer factoring-in of such
landmark historic events that
define todayʼs global distress; it
becomes absolutely feasible to
then understand manʼs
vulnerability in the absence of the
LORD. Together with the
horrendous Haiti earthquake, the
unrelenting deadly tornadoes,
Icelandʼs Eyjafjallajökull
volcanic eruption, the dust clouddust clouddust
and the shut down of the entire
European airspace, swine flu, the
merciless Greek economic
collapse, despicable drought,
unexplained wild fires; there
pains on a pregnant woman, and
they will not escape (1 Thess 5:3).
It is now becoming more and
more evident that the reality of
todayʼs fulfilment of bible
prophecy has finally dawned
upon this modern generation,
the anguish of the last days and
the ultimate coming of the
Messiah. It cannot be held back
by mankind. That becomes the
overwhelming spiritual
significance of the current global
distress that threatens to totally
halt the established systems ofhalt the established systems ofhalt
this world. ʻAnd the desired will
comeʼ was made in Hebrew
reference to ʻthe highly esteemedʼ
i.e. the elect of theelect of theelect LORD. The fete
of todayʼs pangs are as a matter
of fact, achieved in the majority
of todayʼs episodes of calamities,
now that each bears the
underwritings of an earth-
shattering potential, type
regardless. To the extent that
todayʼs catastrophes have now
been indexed as ʻActs of Godʼ,indexed as ʻActs of Godʼ,indexed
indeed goes a long way to further
underscore the scope to which
mankind has now come to terms
with the pangs of this day and
age. The frequency and intensity
withwhichearthquakes,tsunamis,
floods, droughts, economic
collapse, volcanic eruptions,
to their own demise. If the nation
of Haiti were a classroom in
which the other nations of the
earth should sit and learn, then
there is no better way to describe
the impact of how manʼs
disobedience unto the LORD can
adversely ramify the life of an
entire nation, and percolate down
to every little fibre of its citizentry,
with unspeakable devastation.
“Because of this, all hands will go
limp, every manʼs heart will melt.
Terror will seize them, pain and
anguish will grip them; they will
writhe like a woman in labour.
They will look aghast at each
other, their faces aflame. See, the
day of the LORD is coming — a
cruel day, with wrath and fierce
anger— to make the land desolate
and destroy the sinners within it”
(Isaiah 13:6-9). With these words,
certainly the true living
embodiment ofembodiment ofembodiment this promised
distress has, as a matter of fact,
manifest in our time. The question
that is begging in the midst of
todayʼs global distress is; if we
knew aright that all earthly things
must eternally pass away, then
why did the nations set their eyes
and hearts so much upon them, as
they do now! Classical among the
cases is the current second bout ofsecond bout ofsecond bout
the global economic crisis that
has resurfaced in Europe among
theEurozonecountries.Beginning
with the sudden collapse of the
Greek economy through an
unimaginable debt crisis, this
contagion has rapidly spread into
Portugal and Spain. Spain today
runs a high risk of following
Greece into the financial abyss
considering the current high debt
insurance she fronts. The Spanish
economy today presents the
highest debt insurance in the
entire Eurozone. In Portugal, on
the other hand civil unrest hascivil unrest hascivil unrest
began because of the austerity
measures put in place. The Dubai
debt crisis has also heavily taken
the brunt on the global economybrunt on the global economybrunt
in a very negative way. Many
expatriates and local employees
in the United Arab Emirates lost
their jobs in the process and
returned to their home countries.
All these coupled with the
horrendous impact of the volcano
ash on the major global airlines,
can only bespeak a world under
extreme distress. Like it was
during the time of Noah, so will it
be at the coming of the Christ.
They felt secure and careless and
they knew not until the floods
came and on that day, they
believed not what happened to
them. So it is with this modern
world today, a state of smug that
has landed mankind into a greater
shock when the beginnings of
birthpains have arrived. But, on
the material day of gathering, this
nature of self-satisfaction is what
will cause many to miss the
kingdom of God.
would not be any standard

in a class of its own. Mankind willMankind willMankind

and anguish of todayʼs global
distress because they schemed
and planned for generation uponplanned for generation uponplanned
generation here on earth, but they
planned not with reference to the
overwhelming, approaching, and
most certain event of the coming
of the Messiah. The beginning of
dreadful birth pangs witnessed by
this generation and across the
entire globe, indeed testifies to
Godʼs hiatus exerted upon what
used to be a continuum of manʼs
prosperity and tranquillity here
on earth. If one were to look at the
impending return of the Messiah
through the lenses of the current
global anguish, then it becomes
absolutely apparent that His
return shall for sure do away with
every human schemes and indeed
set aside forever all that Godforever all that Godforever
forbids. “And he shall rule with
an iron sceptre . . .” (Rev 19:15).

of his eventual return to
the earth, he did not let
mankind know the day and the hour
when the final redemption of this evil
world would come. In the meantime,
He reiterated that mankind shouldreiterated that mankind shouldreiterated
make good of his time here on the
earth by conforming their lives to
Godʼs will, on a daily basis. It is
this uncertainty of the day and the
hour of the Messiahʼs return, that
has many a time caused not only the
church, but as well the entire heathen
community, to become indeed very
lyrical in the strlyrical in the strlyrical ictest meaning of
the word. Nowhere does the LORD
highlight the gravity of mankindʼs
being in the know regarding His
Coming, than in the parable of the
ten bridesmaids. It was at this point
that the LORD reinforced the need for
wise preparation and underscored
the seriousness of readiness for
His return. It is in this particular
Matthew 25 discourse, that the LORD
overstressed on the fact that those
who will have readied themselves
for the heavenly Bridegroom, will
not be ashamed. The most required
of spiritual features that stand out
regarding the LORDʼs return, can
quickly be extractableextractableextract as faith,
commitment, a righteous and holy
living. This, by no doubt presents the
most sobering reality on the day and
hour of manʼshour of manʼshour accountability to God
Almighty.
No one knows about that day
or hour, not even the angels in
heaven, nor the Son, but only
the Father. (Matthew 24:36).
As the earth, slowly but very steadily, but very steadily, but
advancescloserandclosertothereturn

now become absolutely perceptible,
is that the day and hour ofhour ofhour rapture
must remain a preserve of God the
Father, and Him alone. Hence, when
the LORD propounded that, that dayed that, that dayed
must remain unknown, He essentially
indicated for all practical purposes, indicated for all practical purposes, indicated
that the day of rapture would not be
within the range of manʼs knowledge
and experience in this realm. That

a totally strange and unfamiliar
experience that mankind has never
ever encountered, and is soon to. It
is this aspect that makes
that day one that is
yet to be discovered

unfortunately only
when it does
happen. That is
exactly what

mankind has no

with which to base
any preparation. This
inevitably leaves the
nations of the earth with no
choice except to anchor their livesanchor their livesanchor
onto the word of God as they get

ʻ...neither does the Son know...ʼ, it
essentiallypresupposesthatourLORD
Jesus Himself has also lived through
a scenario of greater expectation
for that day as he anticipates His
decoration and honouring. To be
seated on the right-hand side of God
more then, should the church observe
such-like faith in lasting obedience
to the word that decreed her as the
royal bride! With all its impending
gravity, the greatest impediment
to faith would then seem to be the
mystery surrounding the day when
the Messiah will return to gather the
church. Moreover, the covertness of
the coming day of rapture squarely
rests on it being a surreptitiously
hidden truth that has been decreed by
the discreet purposes anddiscreet purposes anddiscreet appraised
counsel of God Almighty Himself.
Undoubtedly, the scripture lays to
bare the impeccable certainty with
which that day must be realized on
the earth and in heaven.
As it was in the days of Noah,
so it will be at the coming of

That kind of smug was so mortal
that it literally drove the people to a
complete loss of touch with the basic
requirements of Godʼs law. It became
a form of complacency that was as
dangerous as it was mortifying. In
the days of Noah, there were several
elements that appeared in peopleʼs
lifestyle, causing them to drift further
and further away from the will of
JEHOVAH. Today too, the nations

it is not widely addressed across all

No one stone . . .
When the LORD Jesus pronounced
that a day was coming when not
one stone will be left on another,
He indeed revealed much on what
would befall todayʼs world. Such
a great demolition of the house of
the LORD can only depict a picture
of total decay that warrants re-
construction. In a similar tone,
Jeremiah the Prophet, had earlier
on also decreed such a fie having
seen the level of apostasy that had

had to emplace a strict standard of
rigor inrigor inrigor their restoration process.
It was so stern that JEHOVAH
caused Jeremiah the Prophet tocaused Jeremiah the Prophet tocaused Jeremiah the Prophet
pronounce the demolition and
total destruction of the house of
the LORD on Mt. Moriah. And
when that day arrived, surely no
stone was left on another as the
house of the LORD was destroyed
and set on fire. However, the
LORD had equally decided that
it would be the shattered rubble
upon which he would find the
new building blocks to raise a
new house. Little did the people
of Israel perceive that Jeremiah
had as a matter of fact foreseen
the coming of the Messiah and the
noble inauguration of the spiritual
dispensation of the Son of the
living God as the Redeemer. This
meant that the utility of the old
physical temple on Mt. Moriah as
a worship centre, was fast runninga worship centre, was fast runninga worship centre, was f
out, as the spiritual tabernacle
would take centre stage. On
this premise, the LORD hence
promised to rebuild the broken
hearts of worshippers like a potter
does with broken clay, in order to
produce forth a holy vessel; the
house of the Holy Spirit. Just like
it was when the temple buildings
in Jerusalem were destroyed with
stones even pried apart to collectpried apart to collectpried

today adorn the earth. Likewise,
the spiritual pillars of man that
currently reinforce the hearts of
men, will be toppledtoppledto , with no

ow, appertaining to eating

Almighty has for sometime
been raising a red flag on the
hazards it bears to spiritual christianspiritual christianspiritual
life. Right from the onset, it is clear
that JEHOVAHʼs clamour againstclamour againstclamour
uncontrolled eating and drinking is
based on the fact that it compromised
the spiritual sensibility of the people
in Noahʼs dispensation. It is that form
of spiritual numbness that stopped
the population in the days of Noah
from listening to Godʼs instruction.
Overall, the LORD has always asserted
the need to be cautious with eating
and drinking, since food attempts tofood attempts tofood
erode the seriousness of a spiritual
christian lifestyle. The vulnerability
to which uncontrolled eating exposes
the church could not have been better
displayed than in Deuteronomy
32:14-16, when the LORD says; . . .
. . . with curds and milk from
herd and flock and with
fattened lambs and goats, with
choice rams of Bashan and the
finest kernels of wheat. You
drank the foaming blood of
the grape. Jeshurun grew fat
and kicked; filled with food,
he became heavy and sleek. He
abandoned the God who made
him and rejected the Rock his

There surely couldnʼt have been
a better warning coming from the
LORD on the dangers of excessive
eating and drinking, than this. Albeit

being crucial for the livelihood of
mankind, we now see that Jeshurun
who is symbolic of Israel, was
indeed drifted afarafara from thefar from thefar LORD
by excessive eating and drinking.
There must be something about
uncontrolled eating that the LORD
heavily detests.
Seemingly, it may appear totally
inconceivable that when the day of
rapture draws nearer, God Almighty
the Creator of all things, then begins
to sternly re-caution mankind on the
perils of eating and drinking. While
during the laying of the foundation
of the earth, the LORD Himself indeed
deemed it right that there be food
in order to sustain the livelihood
of mankind on this planet; but the
caution raised in relation to rapture
becomes a challenge. This then raises
the question as to what particular
aspect of eating and drinking the
LORD JEHOVAH was highlighting as
an admonition on its detriment todetriment todetriment
spiritual christian lispiritual christian lispiritual fe. To better
appreciate this most important piece
of Godʼs instruction to man, there is
an absolute need for a careful search
in the scriptural domain on the
matter of food. The scripture in 1 Cor
6:12-20, has always been so heavily
concealed to the point that it has at
times spurred-up a great controversy
among theologians. Probably,
this becomes yet another reminder
that bible interprets bible and the
deficiencies of human theology,
help to centralize the Holy Spirit as
the Supreme Revelator of the word.Revelator of the word.Revelator
Nonetheless, chief among them, the
mostsignificantimportthatchristians
ought to appreciate in this scripture, is
the fact that God Almighty dwells to a
greater length on the spiritual dangers
of eating and drinking. Pellucidly,
this thethis thet LORD does to the extent that
He clearly forewarns on what would
be in this day and age termed as athis day and age termed as at
deceptive ʻdemocratic spaceʼdemocratic spaceʼd . In that
context, the LORD reprimands the
excessive permissibility that appears
to have been lucratively advanced to
mankind, that he may do everything
and anything at will. It goes without
saying though, that the implication
here is that JEHOVAH GOD strived
right from the beginning to give
mankind the freedom to do whatever
he chose to, eating included. Such a
permissibilitypermissibilityper though, must have been
meant for purposes of training manʼs
sense of responsibility. However, that
declaration of God-given ʻdemocratic
spaceʼ did not come without a stern
warning on the dire consequences of
a regulated eating and drinking in the
life of the church.
“Everything is permissible
for me”—but not everything
is beneficial. “Everything is
permissible for me”—but I will
not be mastered by anything.
”Food for the stomach and
the stomach for food”—but
God will destroy them both (1
Corinthians 6:12-13).
Bythesewords,theLORD madeaclear

had perceivably earned for himself.

to acknowledge the constant conflict

In this way, the two; the Spirit andSpirit andSpirit

many christians nowadays end up

of food as one of the major stumblingfood as one of the major stumblingfood
blocks that could potentially stop
todayʼs church from seeing the
eternal Kingdom of God. Eating food
without any form of fasting has today
become the chief cause of the greater
dominion of sinful flesh among
otherwise well-meaning christians.
In point of fact, the acts of the sinful
flesh are outrightly impurity, sexual
immorality, idolatry, witchcraft, self
ambitions, jealousy, drunkenness,
sexual orgies and the like (Galatians
5:16-26). Since our LORD Jesus is the
perfect example of a singular focus
on the will of God the Father, then
emulating his walk on earth should
become the most central undertaking
in christian life. At the instance of the
inauguration of his ministry here on
the earth, the LORD Jesus conveyed
the most impeccable message yet on
the dangers of eating in a spiritual
christian lifestyle. Upon being
baptized in the Jordan river, Christ
Jesus the Son of the Living God,
immediately left for the wilderness
in order to pray and separate from
eating by fasting. That interlude of
fasting and separation from eating
turned out to be the most rewarding,
because of the outstanding spiritual
fete he attained as the ministration
of the Holy Spirit replenishedof the Holy Spirit replenishedof the Holy Spirit and
re-nourished his mission (Matthew
4). It clearly emerges that that kind
of Holy Spirit ministration could not
have been achieved in the absence of
fasting. This is the reason for which
the LORD JEHOVAH pin-
pointed out the eating
that went on in the days
of Noah as one of the
most precarious acts
that todayʼs church
can ever engage
in, just prior to
rapture. The rampant
disobedience that the
people in the Noahʼs
days engaged in, can only
come as a testament to thetestament to thetestament
diminished spiritual lifestyle
they lived. That also hints that their
sensibility to the word of God had
been seriously compromised leading
to a fatal numbness. In that defiled
spiritual order, it is obvious that the
flesh reigned over the Spirit and ledSpirit and ledSpirit
the whole earth down the gallows
of death. Today too, the majority of
christians have not paid a particular
attention to this raging conflict
between the Spirit and theSpirit and theSpirit flesh, in
their lives. This presents one of the
key spiritual landmarks that testify
that the Noahʼs days are here, and
unbridled heedlessness becomes
the key feature of the day. A
scolding of this scale by the LORD, is
principally intended for those Christ-
loving christians to stay away from
Jeshurun kind of fall. Jeshurunʼs
situation has today re-surfaced in
the church of Christ, thereby greatly
re-emphasizing on just how much
the uncontrolled eating can cause,
not only the church, but the entire
nation to forget their Creator and
Maker. The LORD has indeed loved
us with freedom upon salvation,
but that liberty ought to conform to
the holiness standards of JEHOVAH,
the God of Israel. The LORD is
strongly exhorting the church on the
importance of prayer and fasting in
order to tame and subdue the sinful
desires of the flesh. Only a holy
christian lifestyle of prayer andprayer andprayer
fasting is eternally sustainable.
Marrying andMarrying andMarr
giving in Marriage
W
hen it comes to preparinghen it comes to preparing
for the day of Christʼs
return, the LORD earnestly
precautions mankind to be careful
with certain types of marriages that
could cause one to miss the rapture.
JEHOVAH in essence draws a solemn
parallel between what happened in
marriages during the days of Noah
and what has befallen matrimony
in these last days. The LORD does
this within the backdrop of the well
established reality that marriage is
a sanctified andsanctified andsanctified holy institution that
is God-ordained. When the LORD
JEHOVAH created marriage, He did so
for the purposes of a sound fellowshipsound fellowshipsound
in the livelihood of mankind on thelivelihood of mankind on thelivelihood
earth. The worthiness of marriage
as a novel institution of God, isnovel institution of God, isnovel
heavily dependent on its ability to
sustain the godly values with which
it was originally created. Its novelty
to JEHOVAH GOD though, is easily
depictable in the fact that in many
occasions, the LORD wonderfully
refers to his relationship with Israel
as a marriage, in which Israel is theIsrael is theIsrael
wifewifewi of JEHOVAH. And because the
basic foundation of such a marriage
greatly rested on covenant building
and sustenance, a default by Israel
often resulted into the annulment ofannulment ofannulment
the cordial relationship. A vivid case
in time is what the LORD presents in
Isaiah 54:5-7, when he declares that;
For your Maker is your husband,
the LORD Almighty is his name,
the Holy One of Israel is your
Redeemer; he is called the God
of all the earth. The LORD will call
you back as if you were a wife
deserted and distressed in spirit
a wife who married young, only
to be rejected,” says your God.
“For a brief moment I abandoned
you, but with deep compassion I
will bring you back.
Hence, as at creation, it can be
obviously seen that marriage in its
original purpose, was undoubtedly
intended to glorify the LORD, and Him
alone.Havingsaidso,itthenbecomes
extremely puzzling to hear the LORD
castigate marriage as one of those
items in life that literally blocked the
people during Noahʼs dispensation,
from entry into heaven. Without a
doubt, there must have been aspects
of marriage that triggered-off such a
bitter controversy between the LORD
and His own ordained institution.
Today it is evidently common to see
the majority of christian marriages
drifting into a state of conflict with
the LORD, the Creator of marriages.
However, the only way that a
marriage can sour-up before the
LORD, is when such a marriage
transforms itself into an idolatry. God
Almighty has repeatedly reaffirmed
Himself as the Jealous One of Israel,
hence demanding all total attention
from all men, including the married.
Unfortunately though, when a
marriage turns idolatrous, then the
attention of loyalty that they ought
to have pledged unto the LORD is
essentially robbed away. Such are
the majority of todayʼs marriages
that the LORD is neither central, nor
glorified. A marriage that honours
the LORD will always by every
standard consider the fear of the
LORD first, in all they undertake to do.
But, for the marriages of today to be
synonymous with those in the days of
Noah, then it can be plainly said that
sin has entered marriages. And that is
the reason why the scripture laments
that when the day of rapture comes,
while the LORD will be gathering
his elect, the rest of the world will
be busy marrying and giving in
marriage. In retrospect, since only
sin can keep one away from the LORD,
then it is plausible to say that todayʼs
marriages that have been likened to
the days of Noah, must be wallowing
in sin. It is true that in these days
of Noah, as the rapture draws even
nearer, many christian marriages
are constantly caught up in sexual
sin, among others. Coming this late
in the day, such marriages for sure
cannot glorify the LORD whose intent
was that all marriage mirror the holy
wedding of the Lamb.
Do not be yoked together
with unbelievers. For what do
righteousness and wickedness
have in common? Or what
fellowship is there between light
and darkness? What harmony is
there between Christ and Belial?
What does a believer have in
common with unbeliever? What
agreement is there between the
Temple of God and idols? For we
are the Temple of the living God.
As God has said; “I will live with
them and walk among them, and
I will be their God, and they will
be my people”. Therefore, come
out from them and be separate,
says the LORD. Touch no unclean
thing and I will receive you.” “ I
will be a Father to you, and you
will be my sons and daughters,
says the LORD Almighty.” (2Cor
6:14-18).
Though mainly put forward in
reference to the wedding of the
Lamb, this scripture was however
intended to be the yardstick foryardstick foryardstick
all marriages that they may be
presented holy before JEHOVAH. But,
if this now is the benchmark by
which to standardize all marriages,
then how much more have todayʼs
marriages drifted away from the will
of God. That is exactly the reason
as to why the LORD Almighty is
grieving over todayʼs marriages of
Noahʼs dispensation. This kind of
grief conveys a lot ofief conveys a lot ofief love though,
considering that without a spiritual
transformationtransformationtrans in todayʼs institution
of marriage, then as it was during
the time of Noah, so will it surely be
at the coming of the Messiah. When
the LORD Himself added against
marriage, by saying that;
“and they knew nothing about
what would happen until the
flood came and took them all
away.”
That can only indicate how much
the LORD is today beseeching
married couples not to be lost in themarried couples not to be lost in themarried

the rest of the world would instead be
deeply engaged in the chores of their
busy marriages. It is the enormous
capaciousness of Godʼs love and
mercy that could not have allowed
him to go without counselling
mankind on the macabre dangers of
giving-in marriages, at the expense
of eternity. The LORDʼs cautionary
warning on the dangers of giving-

that there was an eminent risk ofeminent risk ofeminent risk
spiritual plunder in marriages.
Beyond the shadow of a doubt, the
chores, errands, and conflicts that
have infiltrated the present-dayinfiltrated the present-dayinfiltrated
marriages, can easily steal-away
ones eternal destiny; as more focus
is paid on keeping the marital boatmarital boatmarital

LORD essentially implied that in
these last days people would be
caused to abandon their spiritual
ambitions of eternity with God,
for the sake of sustaining their
marital relationship. It alsomarital relationship. It alsomarital
fundamentally entails marriages
literally caving-in to immense and
sustained pressure that is exerted
on them by the fast-paced worldfast-paced worldfast-paced
of these last days. To the extent
that many marriages have today
practically bowed-out, buckled-

into the capitulation of marriage,of marriage,of
can only reemphasize that without
a stout anchor on the Blood ofanchor on the Blood ofanchor
Jesus, the destiny of marriage is
hell. To a greater degree, the global
financial meltdown has undeniably
exacerbated the spiritualexacerbated the spiritualexacerbated decay
in marriages, to the point that
the majority of couples have
now cut-out any considerations
of eternity and fully complied in
great despair, to the pressures of
this world. Such a drop-out from
pursuing Godʼs purposes is what
has caused a massive backsliding,
and the relinquishing of godliness
and eternity in todayʼs marriages.
If this picture of marriage is just
a prototype of the bigger picture,
then one can comfortably say
that today the church has run
amok under the weight of worldamok under the weight of worldamok ly
pressures. If a most beautiful God-
ordained institution like marriage
can now degenerate to a place
where individuals have to pull-out
of Godʼs will and quit pursuing
holy living,
then there sure
is a dire need
for revival to
visit the church.
Consequently,

Two men working
in the field
B
y heralding that the day
and hour of thehour of thehour Messiahʼs
coming is unknown, the
LORD undeniably revealed so much
regarding the prerequisite readiness
that the church ought to put in place
for rapture. Astoundingly, in order
to underline the shock andshock andshock surprise
with which that day of Christʼs return
will storm the earth, the LORD draws
an exceptional parallel between the
secrecy of that day and two men
working in the field. JEHOVAH God,
in His most sacred exalted counsel,
decrees a vow that of the two men
who will be found working in the
field, only one will be taken up in that
irretrievable gathering of the saints.
On every occasion when the holy
scripture remarks on men, the LORD
principally alludes to His servants,
the pastors. Honestly, when JESUS
OF NAZARETH completed the work of
redeeming mankind on the cross, He
assigned specific tasks to the servants
in the vineyard. However, the LORD
diligently tagged thetagged thetagged legitimacy
of that servanthood to a complete
allegiance to the assigned tasks in
that vineyard. But, to say that the
day and hour is unknown, appears tohour is unknown, appears tohour
have a refining effect on the quality
of servanthood that the LORD was
talking about. Unmistakably, the
scripture in Matthew 24:45-51
precisely refers to this particular
servanthood and the assigned
tasks, vis-a-vis the secret return of
the Master;
”Who then is the faithful and
wise servant, whom the master
has put in charge of the servants
in his household to give them
their food at the proper time?
It will be good for that servant
whose master finds him doing
so when he returns. I tell you
the truth, he will put him in
charge of all his possessions.
But suppose that servant is
wicked and says to himself, ‘My
master is staying away a long
time,’ and he then begins to
beat his fellow servants and to
eat and drink with drunkards.
The master of that servant will
come on a day when he does
not expect him and at an hour
he is not aware of. He will cut
him to pieces and assign him
a place with the hypocrites,
where there will be weeping
and gnashing of teeth.
Admittedly, because these two
men are working in the same field,
it is rightful to say that they are
both toiling in the vineyard of thevineyard of thevineyard
LORD. And for the LORD to have
deliberately opted to take only one,
it must be unquestionably true that,
while laboring in that vineyard, the
other servant must have engaged
in acts of lawlessness. Nowonder,
JEHOVAH Himself prewarns that
not all who proclaim ʻLORD,
LORD...” will enter into His eternal
Kingdom. Appropriate to
this unyielding caution
onto His servants, the
LORD however raises
two most important
attributes that
could help
todayʼs pastors to
maintain anchor
to readiness for
that unknown day.
These two attributes
are faithfulness and
wisdom. The only
way then to restore
the defiled servanthood
that is today laboring in
the house of the LORD, is by the
pastors embracing these two most
cherished qualities. At this last
hour, the pastors ought to shepherd
the flock with absolute faithfulness
to the assigned tasks in the house of
the LORD, while appraising wisdom.
This is the only way to centre the
fear of thefear of thefear LORD into the church
of Christ, in these diminishing
moments before rapture. The
church of Christ at this last hour
is definitely the righteousness
and holiness of the LORD. Now is
surely the proper time to cover the
sheep with the unfailing Blood of
Jesus, which is assuredly the only
spiritual nourishment that availsnourishment that availsnourishment
the righteousness and holiness of
God. The pastors that realize this
most noble task oftask oftask lawfully tending
todayʼs sheep on righteousness, are
indeed symbolized by the one man
that the LORD takes on that day of
reckoning, while leaving the other.
To the extent that the Blood of Jesus
is the one and only wholesome
and ultimate sacrifice,
then the act of
worship unto
the LORD is
veritably an
all or nothing
phenomenon.

The church of

On that account, when the midnight

the priesthood, instructed that

Sure enough, when the midnight

Egypt. Correspondingly, because
the midnight hour has drawnhour has drawnhour

shepherds who are the priesthood

LORD doubtlessly

Tragically, a careful look at todayʼs

as a matter of fact, she has been
ensnared by this same old trick ofensnared by this same old trick ofensnared
the adversary. It is the only plausible
explanation that can account for the
current state of slumber, in which
the church is not even preparing
for the coming of the Messiah. The
LORD is today censuring the pastors
that are unlawfully engaged in this
kind of slumber that they may wakeslumber that they may wakeslumber
up to the calling of this revival

understanding that the church is the
main instrument of the Holy Spirit
for transformation across nations.
However, the portentous lawlessness
with which the rogue disobedient
pastors of today take care of the
sheep, must have seriously grieved
the Holy Spirit to the highest degree
possible. Sure as can be, it is this
unbecoming heedlessness within
todayʼs priesthood that was verily

with todayʼs disobedience and
rebellion within the priesthood. In its
raw definition, a drunkard presentsdrunkard presentsdrunkard
as somebody who habitually drinks
too much alcohol. These could not
have been kind words from the
Omnipotent,especiallywhendirected
towards His own servants in the

at which the LORD would now call
His own pastors drunkards, is when
they have surely crossed the red
line and abused the very grace that
redeemed them from the dungeon of
death. Categorically a drunkard isdrunkard isdrunkard
one who habitually drinks alcohol
to the extent that he is stupefied and
becomes irrational in character and
behaviour. Apart from the stinging
nature of this stern rebuke, most
important then becomes the need
to clearly sort out and understand
what exactly causes a shepherd
to be termed a habitual drunkard.
What todayʼs shepherds donʼt seem
to well understand is that of all the
enticing snares that the adversary
positions in their practice, the
love of money is the
most intoxicating and
addictive of them all.
IrrefutablyIrrefutablyI , a closer
look at some of the
conductofthepresent-

indeed reveals a state
of an intoxicating
addiction to the love
of money in the church.
It is this addictive
habitual conduct that hashabitual conduct that hashabitual
gradually but steadfastly
held the church hostage in
a state of perennial sin. If only
the shepherds had known that
habituation to sin constitutes a
church that has lost all sensibility
to evil thereby being rendered
spiritually numb. Granted that the
church can continue in sin to the
point of addictive drunkenness,
then it would be true of her that
the threshold of sensibility ofthreshold of sensibility ofthreshold
sin has been undoubtedly raised.
In effect, this is the condition
that today tragically prevails
among the majority of pastors
and congregations in churches.
Sin cannot be detected anymore
and hence goes unchecked in the
christian lifestyle of this age. A
lifestyle of this nature is what the
LORD articulately referred to as “to
eat and drink with drunkards. . .”
Two women grinding

to men as servants, women
on the other hand do
represent the LORDʼs symbolism of
the remnant church. Considering that
when the LORD Jesus spoke about His
distinguished return to the earth, Hedistinguished return to the earth, Hedistinguished
referred to it as being synonymous
with ten virgins that step out to
wait for the bridegroom. By taking
one woman out of two, and five
wise virgins out of ten, the LORD in
essence implied that of the remnant

await for rapture, only 50% will be

This becomes yet another shocking
reminder that the true meaning of the
day and hour unknown, is that the
surprise nature with which the LORD
will appear, will most definitely find
not only the world, but also half of
the remnant few unaware. Grinding

it is now possible

been severely corrupted with thecorrupted with thecorrupted
current gospel ofgospel ofgospel prosperity, to the
extent that they would fit the model
of the woman that is left behind
at rapture. These are the kinds of
churches and christians that the
LORD is vigorously reproving by
advancing a warning that if they
do not reform into penitence and
remorsefulness, He would have
to pull the rug under their feet. It
must be said though, that as much
as it is JEHOVAHʼs utmost desire
that nobody ever goes to hell, He
however has repeatedly resounded
a stern warning on manʼs failure to
shape-up and repent. Admittedly,
in that context no shepherd would
ever long to envisage that these
words of rebuke be fulfilled upon
their lives, when the LORD said;
Remember the height from
which you have fallen! Repent
and do the things you did at
first. If you do not repent, I
will come to you and remove
your lampstand from its place
(Revelation 2:5).
Centrally, it is now feasible to
comprehend that when the LORD
proclaimed; “that day and the hour
no man knoweth. . . .” JEHOVAH
principally denoted a firm warning
that all may wisely prepare for that
day, lest they fulfil bible prophecy
that promises to leave one woman on
earth.

While the church had wondered
at the glorious plan of redemption

is however the secret nature of that
unknown day that caused the LORD
to caution mankind to be extremely
watchful, when He said;
”Therefore keep watch, because you
do not know on what day your LORD

To best attain an excellent

has the present
day church not
bothered to be
watchfully alert
and on the lookout
for that sudden
snatching away
of the saints?” This
modern day church
has literally faulted
on every aspect of
watchfulness as advanced
by the LORD. For instance, if
watchfulness indeed denotes a state
of being very alert, then the question
becomes; is todayʼs church really
spiritually alert with regard to thealert with regard to thealert
coming of the Messiah? A church
that is alert is one that is fullyalert is one that is fullyalert aware,
attentive, and wide-awake, especially
at this last hour as the nationshour as the nationshour
delicately veer towards rapture.
Contrarily, the kind of apathetic
indifference that pervades the church
world over, with its selfish and
world-engrossed clamour for earthlyworld-engrossed clamour for earthlyworld-engrossed
things, todayʼs christian can in no
way be any closer to watchfulness.
What becomes even more disturbing
is the fact that alertness also requires
that one be swift andswift andswift agile. And yet
it is today common knowledge to all
christians that the current church of
Christ is no where close to any form
of agility, especially if the wedding
of the Lamb were to take place today
and now. And lo! If it is true that
alertness also requires one to adopt
an attitude of vigilance, caution and
readiness towards an expected event,
then how far wafted off is todayʼswafted off is todayʼswafted
church from the basic command of
God. Todayʼs christians ought to
have appreciated the importance of
spiritual vigilance in order to not only
do exploits for the kingdom, but also
to preserve their hard-won spiritual
gains as the coming of the Messiah
draws closer. How about caution?
Acknowledgingthatthechurchisstill
as much the focus of Godʼs solicitous
love, then the spiritual alertness with
which God is counselling christians
to walk, as a matter of fact, defines
a life under a state of advisory. And
this is totally consistent with what
happens in ordinary life, when an
advisory is issued for people to
maintain a constant alertness in
readiness for an impending act.
Today the church of Christ stands
at the threshold of rapture thereby
desperately demanding a state of
high alert. But since faith can in
no way be allied to presumption in
these most critical last days, then
spiritual alertness among christians
must undoubtedly include a lifestyle
depicted by a constant lookout. This
becomes absolutely imperative as
todayʼs saints attentively await the
rapture. And if there was any way in
which to validate the alertness with
which the LORD is appraising the
church today, then it becomes the call
to live a very observant life and be
highly expectant of thexpectant of thexpectant at long-awaited
event, the coming of the Messiah.
To be on Guard

ecause faith petitions
Godʼs promises, and yields
forth the spiritual fruit
of obedience for those who are
watchful, then, there will be in store
for them a crown of righteousness
which the LORD, the Righteous Judge
will award them who have longed
for His appearing (2 Timothy 4:8).
The most important cradle of a life
lived in spiritual watchfulness, is the
righteousness that itthat itthat establishes and
sparkles in the lives of the saints.
”No one knows about that day

God will safeguard all those whosafeguard all those whosafeguard
walk in the path of obedience in the
highway of holiness; but to depart
from it constitutes a ruinous venture
into the devilʼs pit hole. Central to
obedience is the capacity to be able
to recognize that when scripture
repeatedly echoes a warning about a
particular thing, then extreme caution
oughttobepaidit.TheLORD Jesustoo
did not presume on Godʼs instructive
word by acting unbidden, hence nor
should we on this matter of being
watchful even unto thewatchful even unto thewatchful rapture. In
this perspective, even the scripture in
Mark 13:32-37, continues to reiterate
the same directive that, that day and
hour is not known, thereby requiring
the church to be highly watchful.
However, when the scripture in Mark
13:32-37 tackles the secrecy of that
day of gathering, it brings to light thelight thelight
need for the church to be on guard.
Being on guard essentially meansguard essentially meansguard
the protection of something against
danger or loss. Prefaced with the
secrecy of the eminent day of Christʼs
return, being on guard becomes
an important attribute of christian
walk at this hour. To best underline
the import of what is advancedimport of what is advancedimport
here, it is absolutely imperative
that the church perceive the risk of
plunder andplunder andplunder loss for which the LORD
commands the saints to be on guard.
The risk of plunder that theplunder that theplunder LORD is
expressing serious concern over,
involves the dangers posed by the
adversary over a life of purity. Today
the church has largely ignored this
timely precaution and terribly gotten
entangled in the heedless lifestyle of
compromise with sin. Believing that
His great love and mercy would save
them from the consequences of sin,
today many christians have indulged
in presumption that has led them to
transgresstransgresst His law. It is a life that is
absolutely deceptive and disastrous
because all the LORD ever wanted was
to lead the church to a place where
she would cease to be unnecessarily
in the way of temptation. Keeping
guard then becomes very fundamental
in the christian walk in order to
safeguard a righteous salvation. Godsafeguard a righteous salvation. Godsafeguard
Almighty Himself has for a long
time emphasized the importance of
safeguarding the latter anointing of
the Holy Spirit at this hour. In one
such case, JEHOVAH forewarned of the
great risk ofrisk ofrisk plunder that would beplunder that would beplunder
eminent in these days, when He said,
Then I heard what sounded like
a voice among the four living
creatures, saying, “A quart of
wheat for a day’s wages, and
three quarts of barley for a day’s
wages, and do not damage the
oil and the wine!” (Rev 6:6)
The word of God draws the line
on the christians who pursue a
spiritually detrimental fellowshipdetrimental fellowshipdetrimental
with other unsuspecting christians
thereby bringing them down. This
phenomenon is happening more and
more today with lawless shepherds
exploiting the otherwise well
aspiring christians. The shepherds
who set themselves to intercept theintercept theintercept
wonderful communion between
the LORD and the remnant elect, do
so by exploiting ignorance on the
part of their victims. God Almighty
clamoured to the apocalyptic rider
of the black horse and instructed
him not to damage the oil and theoil and theoil
wine. The oil and theoil and theoil wine are used
in this context by the LORD in order
to symbolize the latter anointing
of the Holy Spirit and its power.
However, for the LORD to have yelled
out for the protection of that last-
promised anointing on the church,
there must have been the real danger
of a serious plunder of that mostplunder of that mostplunder
authoritative anointing. How though
can man receive the latter rain that
was promised in Joel 2:28-32, and
then recklessly allow plunder? That
implies that the glory and peace of
heavenandthejoyofcommunionwith
God, were but dimly comprehended
by man, and yet well known to the
adversary. The enemy must be aware
of the great potential of the latter
anointing in literally redeeming not
only the fallen church, but also the
heathen into rapture. This is the
only plausible translation of why the
enemy can easily rush for the latter
anointing in the church, while the
church is still not on her guard. The
Man of God from Judah in 1 Kings
13 offers the most pertinent reality
of what can befall a faithfulbefall a faithfulbefall christian
lifestyle when the anointing is not
safeguarded and hencesafeguarded and hencesafeguarded plundered.
Now there was a certain old
prophet living in Bethel, whose
sons came and told him all that
the man of God had done there
that day. They also told their
father what he had said to the
king. Their father asked them,
“Which way did he go?” And his
sons showed him which road
the man of God from Judah had
taken. So he said to his sons,
“Saddle the donkey for me.”
And when they had saddled the
donkey for him, he mounted it
and rode after the man of God.
He found him sitting under an
oak tree and asked, “Are you
the man of God who came from
Judah?” “I am,” he replied. So
the prophet said to him, “Come
home with me and eat.” The man
of God said, “I cannot turn back
and go with you, nor can I eat
bread or drink water with you in
this place. I have been told by the
word of the LORD: ‘You must not
eat bread or drink water there or
return by the way you came.’ “
The old prophet answered, “I too
am a prophet, as you are. And an
angel said to me by the word of
the LORD: ‘Bring him back with
you to your house so that he may
eat bread and drink water.’ “(But
he was lying to him.) So the man
of God returned with him and
ate and drank in his house. While
they were sitting at the table,
the word of the LORD came to the
old prophet who had brought
him back. He cried out to the
man of God who had come from
Judah, “This is what the LORD
says: ‘You have defied the word
of the LORD and have not kept
the command the LORD your God
gave you. You came back and
ate bread and drank water in the
place where he told you not to
eat or drink. Therefore your body
will not be buried in the tomb
of your fathers.’ “When the man
of God had finished eating and
drinking, the prophet who had
brought him back saddled his
donkey for him. As he went on
his way, a lion met him on the
road and killed him, and his body
was thrown down on the road,
with both the donkey and the
lion standing beside it. (1 Kings
13:11-24).
There was the sin of obedience in
this man of God from Judah, the
working of the power that withstoodpower that withstoodpower
the dominion of darkness and that is
the reason, the enemy, with intense
interest watched the wonders that he
had done at the altar. The old prophet
here represents the old anointing that
has broken ranks with the LORD and
adulterated, because of compromise
with sin. While on the other hand, the
man of God from Judah stands for
the new anointing that satan knew he
did not hold absolute sway over. The
only way then, was to employ a most
cunning deception at a time when the
man of God from Judah had not raised
his guard. This whole episode led to
the plunder of a most preciousplunder of a most preciousplunder fresh
anointing of the LORD
because of not keeping
guard. Today this
acts as a vivid
reminder to thereminder to thereminder
church, on the
seriousness
of preserving

against plunder.
To keep guard,
the church must
also watch over
and control passagecontrol passagecontrol
through the entrance across
her boundaries. In Israel, watch
sentry towers were erected along
the perimeter wall that enclosed the
house of the LORD. And on each
booth stood a man who watched

the marauding Bedouins did not

have constituted a most grievous

The church too must keep guardkeep guardkee andp guard andp guard
maintainvigilancethatthemarauding
preachers of prosperity, preachers

marauding false apostles do no gain

of the LORD. Since keeping guard
as raised by the LORD also entails to
control andcontrol andcontrol restrain aspects such as
speech and behaviour, then it goes
without saying that the church ought
to live a guarded life that reflects theguarded life that reflects theguarded
salvation she has. Hence when the
LORD said that that day and hour no
man knoweth, He significantly gave
a very powerful message to this end
church on the need to keep guard
in order to enter the kingdom of
heaven. This he emphasized that they
would observe in order to overvalue
heavenly things and set their hearts
upon the coming of the Messiah.
However, not without hindrance
would the church hearken unto the
righteousness of the LORD by keeping
guard. The adversary will always
strive to place stumbling blocks that
hinder the church fromhinder the church fromhinder guarding the
precious holiness of the LORD which
was inherited through salvation.inherited through salvation.inherited
Todayʼs christians however, should
find consolation in the fact that even
the LORD Jesus, from the time when
he was a babe in Bethlehem, till
the end of his mission here on the
earth, he was continually assailed
by the evil one. But the image of
God was continually manifest inmanifest inmanifest
Him and throughout the councils
of man wherever He testified. This
is why even the church today faces
the forces of confederacy of evil
that have been set up on her track to
engage in warfare against her and if
possible, to prevail over her image ofprevail over her image ofprevail
God. It highlights to a great extent,
just how central it is for the churchcentral it is for the churchcentral
to jealously keep guard over the mostkeep guard over the mostkeep guard
sacred anointing of the Holy Spirit
through whom she can overcome the
adversary. One of the most powerful
of tools that the church
can engage to harvest
the souls, in this
most critical
dispensation, is
communication.

this most

p r e s e n t a t i o n .
Whereas the LORD
Jesus employed
this heavenly skill of
communication to draw all men

The LORD Jesus communicated
to his audience by both voice and
behaviour. In other words, he walked
the talk that caused all the nations tothe talk that caused all the nations tothe talk
desire the kingdom of God. On the
otherhand,inthechurchʼsattemptsto
communicate, the tones of her voice
have instead reflected an expression
of utter incredulity, even as her
words rankle a form of bitterness in
the minds of the heathen. Todayʼs
unbelievers have now perceived that
in the churchʼs manner of speaking to
them, there was a disguised attempt
to extort money from them in theextort money from them in theextort
gospel of prosperity and financial
wealth transfer. The current rampant
fronting of the gospel of ʻsow-a-
seed and obtain your miracle nowʼ,
has become the biggest curse and
undoing in the church. It is because
this gospel of money and wealth that
today saturates the Global Christian
Television networks, has become
well recognized by therecognized by therecognized unbelievers
to be an utter contempt unto thecontempt unto thecontempt holy
name of Jesus, as it constitutes the
blatant selling of the Blood of Jesus.
Hence, when the LORD commanded
that the church keep guard, it also
connoted the instruction toconnoted the instruction toconnoted shield
her words in order to ensure that
only what is spiritually beneficial tobeneficial tobeneficial
Christ Jesus, is released. How artfully
beneficial would the church approach
the heathen with the gospel had she
restrained herself from the spirituallyrestrained herself from the spirituallyrestrained
maligning preaching and behaviour
that she is currently engaged in.
Because guarding also bestows on
one the responsibility of shielding
somebody or something, then, the
church as the light of the worldlight of the worldlight
has the responsibility of shielding
the nations of the earth from being
overtaken by the current spiritual
darkness. The LORD God demands of
the church as ambassadors of Christ
to exemplify his holy and righteous
image of THE LIGHT.
Whoever claims to live in him
must walk as Jesus did
(1 John 2:6).
The LORD Jesus came as a witness
to testify concerning the light so thatlight so thatlight
through him mankind might believe
and be aided in his life ofaided in his life ofaided toil. He
came to affirm the authenticity of the
kingdom of God to which he bore
witness. Christ whom the church
follows is the light from whom comes
all spiritual illumination because He
is the light of the world who holdslight of the world who holdslight

For with Him is the fountain of life
and in his light mankind sawlight mankind sawlight light.
Amply attested was the fact that theattested was the fact that theattested

onto this dark world. And because
the adversary has a covert negativecovert negativecovert
intention to create a doubt on the
divine truthfulness of the gospel,
through the deceptive preaching
of money and false prophecies in
todayʼs church; it is indeed also the
responsibility of the few remnant
holy saints to jealously safeguard theguard theguard
hard-won holy gospel of the Blood
and light of Jesus, from eminent

As did God send his divine angel

hope that the Holy Spirit brings to
todayʼs church, that even as was the

however marred theirmarred theirmarred visage may

that the LORD OF HOSTS pleaded with
the church to jealously safeguard
and keep watch over, that no
marauding strangers may defile. It
is the withholding of such beautiful
truth concerning the revelation
of what the LORD meant when he
commanded, ʻkeep guardʼ, is what
has today spurred up aspurred up aspurred contradiction
between the corrupt sentiments that
the church is spewing out, and the
spiritually exalted position she oughtexalted position she oughtexalted
to be at this last hour. Considering
that things can get pretty decayed
in an unchecked christian walk, unchecked christian walk, unchecked
then the LORDʼS instruction to keep

the need to in-build within the holyin-build within the holyin-build
christians the responsibility of acting

Likewise, the LORD is instilling upon

valveʼ and promptly report any signs
of decay that may terminally destroy
the house if unchecked.
The armies of heaven were
following him, riding on white
horses and dressed in fine linen,
white and clean (Rev 19:14).
The directive that the LORD gave
when he said keep guard, supersedes
this realm and transcends into the
next dispensation. This is principally
due to the fact that in Rev 19:14, we
see that Christ the Commander of the
heavenly hosts is heavily guarded byguarded byguarded
the raptured saints whod saints whod safeguard
him as he makes that triumphant
entry into Jerusalem. Given that
Christ was most heavily assailed
by the fiercest ofrcest ofrcest temptations in the
time of his greatest weakness during
fasting, then to keep guard in todayʼseep guard in todayʼseep guard
church, would essentially also imply
being aware that todayʼs saints must
always maintain a firm reliance
upon “Thus saith the LORD”, as their
strongest rod. With the rod orod orod f “Thus
saith the LORD”, the saints today can
literally ward off any attack. But, theward off any attack. But, theward off
fact that the enemy has today well
tried the faith and submission of
shepherds and saints alike, can only
imply a state of lesser reliance on
“Thus saith the LORD”, as their main
line of defence. “Men shall not live on
bread alone, but by everybread alone, but by everybread word thatword thatword
proceeded out of the mouth of God”.
This must be guarded in the lifestyleguarded in the lifestyleguarded
of every believer in order to see the
kingdom of heaven. The digression
that todayʼs church has experienced
from the central holiness of the LORD
indeed reflects a major departure
from the fealty with which she was
sworn in her ordination vow at the
table of the Last Supper.
See that what you have heard
from the beginning remains
in you. If it does, you also will
remain in the Son and in the
Father. And this is what he
promised us—even eternal life. I
am writing these things to you
about those who are trying to
lead you astray. As for you, the
anointing you received from him
remains in you, and you do not
need anyone to teach you. But as
his anointing teaches you about
all things and as that anointing
is real, not counterfeit—just
as it has taught you, remain in
him. And now, dear children,
continue in him, so that when
he appears we may be confident
and unashamed before him at
his coming. If you know that
he is righteous, you know that
everyone who does what is right
has been born of him (1 John
2:24-29).

Said, ʻkeep guardʼ, is the instruction
that; in the presence of the witnessing
universe, the LORD testifies that it is
a lesser calamity to suffer whatever
may befall man, than tobefall man, than tobefall depart in anydepart in anydepart
wayfromthewillandholinessofGod.
One can only imagine the magnitude
of fie of disapproval that must bedisapproval that must bedisapproval
resonating from the LORD towards
the present day church because of
her departure from His righteous
will, into the gospel of prosperity.
Deep into the wilderness, when all
means of sustenance had failed,
God Himself sent Israel manna from
heaven. And a sufficiently constant
supply was provided for them. The
LORD then said to Israel,
“I have humbled thee, and
suffered thee to hunger and fed
thee with manna which thou
knowest not, and neither did
thy fathers know it, that I might
make thee know that men doth
not liveth by the bread only, but
by every word that proceedeth
out of the mouth of the LORD,
doth men liveth.” (Deut 8:2-3).
That provision was to teach Israel
that while they trusted intrusted intrusted JEHOVAH
God and walked in his ways, he
would not forsake them but provide
sufficiently for them. The LORD
is today petitioning the church to
keep guard on this basicguard on this basicguard biblical
principle that she may be provided
for miraculously and sufficiently,
in order not to drift into the presentdrift into the presentdrift
day despondency. Such despondency
has even brought sexual sin in the
church. In the New Testament, it is
the Blood of Jesus that provides for
the saints miraculously sufficiently
and abundantly. It is this Blood of
Jesus that was given to the church
in the beginning as an everlasting
pledge of livelihood, that the LORD
commands the church to keep guard
of. The question then becomes; has
the present-day church of Christ
jealously and zealously kept guard
of what they received, even at the
beginning? How come todayʼs
christians have not seen it yet, that
in the last greatest conflict of theconflict of theconflict
controversywiththeworld,thosewho
are loyal to God, byloyal to God, byloyal keeping guard ofkeeping guard ofkeeping guard
the holy salvation they received from
the beginning, will see every earthly
support replenished because theysupport replenished because theysupport
refused to break hisbreak hisbreak law of obedience
to the righteous Blood of Jesus.
Then, the central enunciation that
ʻthe day and the hour is unknownʼ,
indeed percolates very deep into
every fibre of the holy christian walk
as the church is required to prepare
for the glorious appearing of the
Messiah. The adversary operating
through the world and the flesh,
has always endeavoured to cause
man to sacrifice his conscientious
convictions unto the power of the
Blood of Jesus. But, unfortunately
for the adversary, the day is coming
when he shall be ashamed in hisashamed in hisashamed
evil, and his fake fig tree shall not
blossom, neither shall his counterfeit
vines bear fruit, and the labour oflabour oflabour
his fake olives shall fail, as the holy
saints, and I repeat holy, shall joy in
the salvation of their God. This is
the eternal hope that the church of
Christ ought to enviously keep guard

the enormous throng of biblical
scriptural milieu. In this holy text,
the LORD introduces yet another very
critical domain of the discourse on
the rapture of the church, and the
need for preparedness. This, JEHOVAH
does by elevating the greatness that
was already dwelt upon withdwelt upon withdwelt kindling
enthusiasm in the previous Matthew
24 dialogue on the unknown nature
of the day for Christʼs return. Upon
the occasion of the coming of the
Messiah, to which such prominence
has been given by the said scripture,
JEHOVAH said;
“It’s like a man going away: He
leaves his house and puts his
servants in charge, each with
his assigned task, and tells the
one at the door to keep watch.
“Therefore keep watch because
you do not know when the
owner of the house will come
back—whether in the evening, or
at midnight, or when the rooster
crows, or at dawn. If he comes
suddenly, do not let him find
you sleeping. What I say to you,
I say to everyone: ‘Watch!’ (Mark
13:34-37).
Thus a high price for being watchful
could be secured and rewarded, secured and rewarded, secured
especially on the day of reckoning at
Christʼs return. Having dwelt in this
word, the remnant church would not
be left out without performing the
most novel act ofnovel act ofnovel devotional worship

Today too, the failure of the church
to heed the instruction of theheed the instruction of theheed Owner
of the House, and her subsequent
abscondment from performing Hisabscondment from performing Hisabscondment
assigned task, has led to a similar
tempest. Pastors can today openly
be seen busy selling and bargaining
on the price of Olive oil, presenting
special offers of the day, and howling
at the top of their voices in attempt
to be the most heard in the market
place. Thus has been abandoned
the taught lesson that wherever God
manifests His presence, the place
be considered holy. This is what in
the Mark 13:34-37 record on therecord on therecord
unknown day of Christʼs return
was well referred to, as the church
falling asleep. With such a searching
glance, Christ had taken on the scene
before him when he took three of his
most beloved disciples to the garden
of Gethsemane and instead of being
watchful, they fell asleep. The heart-
rending rebuke that the LORD handed
down upon the sleeping church at
Gethsemane on that day, revealed
His prophetic insight that already
had looked into futurity and seen not
only the years but also the centuries
and ages in which the church would
depart from thedepart from thedepart truth and be put to
sleep by the enemy.
“If he comes suddenly, do not let
him find you sleeping...”

Oh lo! How the LORD wishes that the

right before His holy presence. In this
