  2. 2. <ul><li>General Rules </li></ul><ul><li>Must have 5 properly dressed players at game time </li></ul><ul><li>Teams without a goalie will play with an extra skater </li></ul><ul><li>There are no “playing posts” games </li></ul><ul><li>Goalies may play for multiple teams </li></ul><ul><li>Games will consist of 3 periods, each 12 minutes long </li></ul><ul><ul><li>There will be 1 minute between periods </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Mercy Rule: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>a team leading by 10 goals in the 3 rd period will automatically win </li></ul></ul>MANAGER'S MEETING
  3. 3. <ul><li>Required Player Equipment </li></ul><ul><li>Players are required to wear: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>shoulder pads </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>hockey skates </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>shin pads </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>hockey pants </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>athletic supporter with cup </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>elbow pads </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>regular hockey gloves </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Helmets </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Helmets must be approved by HECC, AHAUS, CAHA, AHA, or GHA. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Helmets must have a full face shield </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Wire masks can be worn as long as they have not been cut. </li></ul></ul></ul>MANAGER'S MEETING

  7. 7. <ul><li>Icing & Offsides </li></ul><ul><li>Icing: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Icing will not be called </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Offsides: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Tag-up offsides will be played </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>There is no intentional offsides </li></ul></ul>MANAGER'S MEETING
  8. 8. <ul><li>Unsportsmanlike Penalties </li></ul><ul><li>Players receiving any combination of 3 penalties (except high sticking) will be ejected from the game and the facility. </li></ul><ul><li>Major penalties, misconduct penalties and game misconduct penalties </li></ul><ul><li>will all result in the player’s ejection. </li></ul><ul><li>Penalties from the bench will be assessed to the team’s captain. </li></ul><ul><li>This is a NON – CHECKING league. This infraction will be penalized as a: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Minor penalty </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Major penalty </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Major penalty with ejection </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>(a team member remaining in the game will serve the appropriate penalty) </li></ul></ul></ul>MANAGER'S MEETING
  9. 9. <ul><li>Unsportsmanlike Penalties </li></ul><ul><li>All USA Hockey penalties will be called </li></ul><ul><li>Spearing, butt-ending, or any other attempt to harm/injure will result in an immediate ejection </li></ul><ul><li>Fighting will result in the immediate termination of the game, regardless of the score. </li></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Players involved in the fight will also be ejected. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><li>2 players penalized at the same time, but on different teams will result in a 4-on-4 situation or a 3-on-3 situation, NOT a 5-on-5 situation. </li></ul>MANAGER'S MEETING
  10. 10. <ul><li>Slashing & Hooking </li></ul><ul><li>Slashing </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Players must attempt to play the puck with their stick </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Any player using their stick to slash an opponent’s body or stick will be assessed a slashing penalty. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Hooking </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Players may not hook or attempt to hook an opposing player with their stick. </li></ul></ul>MANAGER'S MEETING
  11. 11. <ul><li>Roughing and Checking </li></ul><ul><li>Hockey is strictly a NON – CONTACT sport </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Players cannot intentionally make contact with opposing players </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Intentionally contacting an opposing player will result in a minor, major </li></ul><ul><li>or game misconduct penalty. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>The severity of the penalty will be at the judgment of the official </li></ul></ul>MANAGER'S MEETING
  12. 12. <ul><li>Holding, Tripping & Interference </li></ul><ul><li>Players may not impede an opponent from progressing in play. Players </li></ul><ul><li>using their hands or sticks to hold a player will be assessed a penalty </li></ul><ul><li>Interference will be called when a player obstructs an opponent’s </li></ul><ul><li>movement that does not have possession or control of the puck. </li></ul><ul><li>Players using their body or stick to trip an opponent will be assessed a </li></ul><ul><li>tripping penalty. </li></ul>MANAGER'S MEETING
  13. 13. <ul><li>Player Behavior and Bench Decorum </li></ul><ul><li>Only captains may confer with the official at any point during competition, however, neither they, nor any other player is permitted to question a judgment call. </li></ul><ul><li>Any players taunting or arguing from the bench area will also be subject to penalization. </li></ul><ul><li>Any player leaving the bench to protest or otherwise dissent against an official's decision shall be immediately ejected from the competition and the facility. </li></ul>MANAGER'S MEETING
