  2. 2. Sefton Children's University Graduates 2010 On Tuesday 22nd June, Mrs Kenrick took 24 children to Edge Hill University for Sefton Children's University Graduation Ceremony. Ben Mills, Emma & Lucy Martin gave an interesting speech about the variety of clubs & activities that take place at Norwood. We learnt about the fun, memories, skills & personal achievements gained from regular attendance. The children talked about how the skills & knowledge they have learnt can be used in their futures. All children enjoyed the experience, wearing their mortar boards, receiving their certificates & goody bags. Children's University recognises the commitment children make to extra curricular activities. Year 6 Graduates Jade Badley, Rachael Elston, Katie Linaker, Abigail Knapton, Aaron Richards, Ben Mills, Helena Fletcher-Hill, Nicole Ferrier, Emma Martin, Lucy Martin, Lucy Dutton, Red Roses Darbyshire, Georgia Halcrow & (Jessica McNamara). Recently school council members have been discussing about adopting a dolphin. Most dolphins in the wild are being captured and killed so some types of dolphins are extremely endangered. Most dolphins are very smart and playful. You may be a stranger Final Screening:8.7.10 to them but they act like they have known you all their life! The female always stays with her calves when they have just been born but gradually as they get older she sometimes leaves them to go and catch her food, but she won't leave them for long in case a larger animal comes along which could be a threat to The Plague Dogs (PG) them. By Sol Wilkinson & Emily Marshall Shinewaves Competition Last week’s competition was to photograph an insect. As usual, it was really difficult to judge. However, for an unusual photograph of a web full of newly hatched spiders (we know they are technically arachnids!), the winner, from 1D, is Henry Watkinson. Congratulations Henry! This week’s competition is a class competition for the tidiest classroom. Our team of cleaners will be on the look out to help me decide. Good luck! Norwood Crescent, Southport. PR9 7DU.
