  3. 3. Children in the Spotlight Courtney has Isabelle raised £10 passed her by taking part in Stage 1 National sponsored skip for Swimming Comic Relief. Award. Super! Fantastic! Emily has passed Heather has her Level 6 received several Proficiency award medals and for Gymnastics & certificates for her Stage 1 national performances at swimming Plan the Liverpool award. W/b 26/4/11 3 days £4.80 W/b 3/5/11 4 days £6.40 Shinewaves Competition Time Welcome back to competition time.William Shakespeare, who is widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language, was baptised 26 April 1564 and died 23 April 1616. Much of what he wrote is still read and performed today. He wrote 38 plays, 154 sonnets, two long narrative poems, and several other poems. So this week’s competition is based on the bard! How many words (which can be found in a dictionary) can you make from the words WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE? Pop your entries in the competition post box, outside the hall, by Tues 26th April with your name and class on the back. Bulb planting at Queenscourt Hospice Harry, Sian & Alex from the School Council, recently joined council members from Larkfield, Holy Trinity, St Philips & Holy Family to plant bulbs in the grounds of Queenscourt Hospice. They were treated to juice & biscuits for their hard work. Slip, Slop, Slap! Slip on shirt, slop on the sunscreen and slap on a hat!As the weather is getting warmer and the sunshine is here, we would like to inform you of the schools policy on sunsafety/sun cream. - Children will be allowed to bring in sunscreen on a daily basis. It must be roll on and have an SPF of 30+ as recommended by Cancer Research. This must be labelled with your childs name and class. - We recommend that children wear sun hats, ideally broad brimmed or legionnaire style which cover the face, ears and neck. - Children will be allowed to wear sunglassesSwimming Gala during outdoor sessions but these must be plastic and meet with UV standards. - Children will be allowed to wear loose and light protective jackets/clothing to protect uncovered parts of their body. - Children may bring in lip sunscreen with a high SPF and clearly labelled. - Children are not allowed to share sunscreen or lip sunscreen. - As a school we cannot provide sunscreen for children who have forgotten to bring in their own in. - Children will be expected to apply their own sunscreen. Staff will NOT apply a childs sunscreen, although younger children may be supervised. - Children should bring sunscreen for use on school trips. - If your child is allergic to sunscreen, parents MUST inform the school and provide alternative methods of protection.Norwood Crescent, Southport.
