Slide 4 REIKI AND HEALING TOUCH • Major difference: Healing Touch is a curriculum which provides training in a variety of techniques to restore balance in the human energy system. • Healing Touch has uniform standards in training and certification. ___________________________________ ___________________________________ ___________________________________ ___________________________________ ___________________________________ ___________________________________ ___________________________________ Slide 5 Reiki Defined • Rei- universal, higher knowledge or spiritual wisdom • Ki- life energy. The same as Chi in Chinese or Ti or Ki in Hawaiian. This is a non- physical energy that animates all living things. When this life energy is low you are more vulnerable to illness.   3. 3. Slide 7 Do all Healers Use Reiki? • There are many kinds of healing energy • Reiki is a special kind of healing energy that can only be channeled by someone that has been attuned to it. Slide 13 What can be treated? • Reiki is both powerful and gentle. • In its long history it has been used to aid in every known illness and injury including serious problems like multiple sclerosis, heart disease, and cancer as well as skin problems, cuts, bruises, headaches, colds, flu, sore throat, fatigue, anxiety and insomnia. ___________________________________ ___________________________________ ___________________________________ ___________________________________ ___________________________________ ___________________________________ ___________________________________ Slide 14 What does it feel like? • Like a wonderful glowing radiance and has many benefits for both client & practitioner, including positive states of consciousness and spiritual experiences. • Reiki works in harmony with all other kinds of treatment to shorten healing time, reduces or eliminates pain, reduces stress and helps create optimism. ___________________________________ ___________________________________ ___________________________________ ___________________________________ ___________________________________ ___________________________________ ___________________________________ Slide 15 Is Reiki a Religion? • While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. • It has no dogma, and there is nothing you must believe in order to learn and use Reiki. • It is not dependent on a belief at all and will work whether you believe in it or not. • Reiki comes from God enabling many people to go beyond intellectual concepts and directly experience their religion. ___________________________________ ___________________________________ ___________________________________ ___________________________________ ___________________________________ ___________________________________ ___________________________________

Slide 16 Hand Positions for Self- Treatment • 1-hands over face with fingers at the top of the forehead and the hands touching. • 2a-Place your hands on the sides of your head over the ears. • 2b-Place your hands on top of your head with the fingers touching but not overlapping. Slide 19 • 11-Hold your left foot with both hands in a way that is comfortable. • 12-Hold the right foot with both hands in a way that is comfortable. • 13a-Hold your right foot with your right hand and your left foot with your left hand in a way that is comfortable. • 13b-Hold your left foot with your right hand and your right foot with your left hand in a way that is comfortable.
