  3. 3. Overviw : What is Eeducation ? Education is a defined as a way of learning and acquiring information. 3
  4. 4. What is Artificial intelligence and education(AIED) ? Refers to a research community that is interested in the intersection of artificial intelligence research, learning and education. Overviw : 4
  5. 5. Problem being solved in the chosen topic? To build the educational systems to be more powerful and attractive to use or simulates the teaching of an experienced teacher. Overviw : 5

  8. 8. What are AI techniques and algorithms used in Education? There are different methods are used by AIED (such as Rule-Based expert system, fuzzy logic, case based reasoning, Bayesian network, etc.) which is use in educational systems AI techniques and algorithms : 8
  9. 9. • fuzzy logic: A fuzzy cognitive map (FCM) is a graphical representation of the knowledge about a given system. Fuzzy cognitive mapping is a combination of fuzzy logic and cognitive mapping. AI techniques and algorithms : 9
  10. 10. • Case based reasoning: Case-based reasoning (CBR) is the process of solving new problems based on the solutions of similar past problems. AI techniques and algorithms : 10
  11. 11. • Rule-Based expert system: Rule-Based expert system is a knowledge-based method. It tends to captures the knowledge of domain experts into expressions that can be evaluated as rules. AI techniques and algorithms : 11
  12. 12. • Bayesian network: Bayesian network is a knowledge-based method. It is a directed graph consists of nodes represents a random variable and directed links between two nodes, each node has a conditional probability distribution that quantifies the effect of the parent in the node. AI techniques and algorithms : 12
  13. 13. Examples of application: • Computer Aided Instruction: Computer Aided Instruction (CAI) is the most popular expert system and best application those dealing with expert heuristics for solving problems. 13
  14. 14. • Learning Management Systems: Learning Management Systems (LMS) are a web based applications that present the educational content at the right time and in the appropriate format and assuring the interaction between the student and the learning resources. Examples of application: 14
  15. 15. • Intelligent Tutoring System: Intelligent Tutoring System (ITS)This is an expert system was primarily developed to help first year engineering student deep understanding of basic concepts to be able to follow the more advanced topics in the engineering fields. Examples of application: 15
  16. 16. • Intelligent Pascal Tutoring System: Intelligent Pascal Tutoring System (IPTS) - is specially used for teaching Pascal computer language is Intelligent Pascal Tutoring System (IPTS). This expert system is used for independent teaching of Pascal to computer scientists. Examples of application: 16
  17. 17. The original goal of AI was to develop techniques which simulate human intelligence. So it has been used widely in many areas. Education are one of these area that applying artificial intelligence techniques. Conclusion: 17
