IntroductionFinding the right Chinese business partners for Dutchcompanies is not easy and takes a lot of time andeffort.The Dutch Consulate General in Guangzhou aims toenhance the relations between Dutch and Chinesecitizens and organizations, and has a broad expertiseon any sector or industry in South-China; theprovinces of Guangdong, Fujian, Guangxi and Hainan.The consulate can help to screen, identify and meetprospective partners, distributors and counterpartsfor companies in the Netherlands that want toexpand their business to South-China.

What is matchmaking?Matchmaking is looking for suitableChinese counterparts for Dutch companiesthat go on a trade mission to China, andorganizing meetings between these twoparties in order to match them.Experienced commercial officers with greatknowledge of the top sectors will beresponsible for the matchmaking process.

The Dutch consulate in Guangzhou• Has strong relationships with the local businesses, industriesand local government leaders• Has a broad expertise on different top-sectors• Connects Dutch companies to the right business counterparts• Offers business partner searches and personalized businessmatchmaking appointments

  6. 6. First communication• Exchanging information involving companies that needmatchmaking*• CG will send an intake form to the Dutch companies. Thisintake form consists of questions regarding:• Company profile• Company products and services• Program related topics*Matchmaking requests should be submitted 4-6 weeks prior to the delegation visit, in order to have enough time for identifying,screening and meeting the counterparts
  7. 7. Partner identificationAccording to the informationexchanged CG will:• Identify potential counterparts• Take care of detailed companyinformation• Share market opportunitiesAfter that a list of potential Chinesecompanies will be sent to the Dutchcompanies
  8. 8. Pre-visit• The consulate will visit themost potential businesspartners on site• …And report to the Dutchcompanies• If necessary the consulate willlook for more counterparts
  9. 9. Final preparationsIn the final preparation phase theconsulate will arrange:• A meeting schedule with pre-screened counterparts• Transport to the Chinese companiesor hotel• An interpreter (upon request)The consulate will send the individualmatchmaking programs and forms ofagreement to the Dutch companies
  10. 10. Matchmaking Company visits on siteThe Dutch company will visit theChinese counterpartso On average maximum 2-3 company visitsper day per Dutch company Hotel meetingsBoth Dutch and Chinese companieswill meet in a hotelo On average maximum 4-5 meetings perday per Dutch company
  11. 11. All costs for transport from and to hotel (includingpre-visits), hotel, interpreter etc. are expected to bepaid by the Dutch company on site.The consulate will provide the partner searches andarrange the meetings.
