Create community-informed, creative and safe infrastructure that will enable residents, commuters and visitors to get around the city through modes other than motorized vehicles and encourage greater physical activity such as walking, running and biking; 2. Beautify an area deemed unsafe and ugly in the built environment to promote civic pride and improve local quality of life; 3. Promote economic development and vitality in dead space areas like this busy thoroughfare; 4. Reduce reliance on motorized vehicles and our carbon footprint Environmental sustainability 5

Click to edit Master title style • Edit Master text styles • Second level • Third level • Fourth level • Fifth level Artwalk • Collaborating to advance the intersections of the arts, public health and placemaking sectors • Busy thoroughfare that connects the Millhill and downtown area of Trenton to the Trenton Transit Center • Leveraged long-standing community interest and support to make the Route 1 underpass/Artwalk more inviting and pedestrian- and bike-friendly • Partnered with Artworks and allocated nearly 30K over 2 years to utilize public art as the tool to streetscape this gateway to the capital city • Our initial THT TCI funding stimulated additional funding (Sustainable Jersey, NJM Insurance Group and Geraldine R.
