  1. 1. Windsor is located right across the DetroitRiver from Detroit Michigan. Thewaterfront offers a 5km trail, manygardens, art sculptures, parks, picnic areasand stunning views. Recently a largeoutdoor concert and event area was builtand will be the host to Windsor’s manysummer festivals.
  2. 2. The Ambassador Bridge connectsWindsor and Detroit. It is a 7500foot suspension bridge . Thebridge opened in 1929 andapproximately 225, 000 cars andtrucks cross this bridgeeveryday!!!
  3. 3. The Detroit/Windsor tunnel is another way to travel back and forth between the two countries.The tunnel opened in 1930 andis 75 feet below the river bed.Approximately 15,000 vehiclespass through the tunneleveryday.
  4. 4. The Peace Fountain is located in one ofWindsor’s beautiful river front parks.Its the perfect place for a family outing,walk or wedding pictures ;o)
  5. 5. The Windsor/Detroit Freedom Festivalstarted in 1959 and happens every yearbetween the last week of June through toJuly 4th. The Freedom Festival celebrates thefreedom between Canada and America!Every year to celebrate both Canada andAmerica’s birthday a huge fireworks displayis set off. Over 200,000 people attend thefireworks in Windsor each year. TheFreedom festival fireworks has been said tobe the 2nd largest fireworks display in NorthAmerica!
  6. 6. The University of Windsor offers many programs and activities to participate in. This iswhere I attended University for both my undergrad and education degree. Just thisMarch the University of Windsor girls Basketball team took home their first everCanadian Women’s Basketball Championship!!! Go Lancers!!!
