The Current Scenario <ul><li>Branch fests merging into a mega combined fest is given a go ahead. </li></ul><ul><li>NMAMIT will be hosting VTU fest for next academic year. </li></ul><ul><li>Our students have Proved To be technically competent at various National level fests this year. </li></ul>
  2. 3. <ul><li>VTU fest will showcase our cultural talents. </li></ul><ul><li>A similar Platform is required in the technical area. </li></ul><ul><li>So a proposal for TECH-FEST 2010. </li></ul><ul><li>All branches in unison working towards a mega event. </li></ul>The Road Ahead
  3. 4. Why? <ul><li>Nitte students have proved themselves. But…… </li></ul><ul><li>Only a few students get an opportunity for attending national level fests. </li></ul><ul><li>Tech fest will get to them the real feel of a national level competition. </li></ul>
  4. 5. TECH-FEST <ul><li>A Three day event. </li></ul><ul><li>Goes National level. </li></ul><ul><li>The image of NMAMIT, Nitte shines through the new Events of very high standards and competitiveness. </li></ul><ul><li>Technical Events get the push that they deserve. </li></ul>
  5. 6. Benefits <ul><li>A massive turnout of students from all over. </li></ul><ul><li>High Quality technical events can be held without any constraints. Multi-disciplinary events should be encouraged. </li></ul><ul><li>A big boost to the image of NMAMIT, Nitte in the country. </li></ul>

How will it work? <ul><li>Taking into account the academic calendar the fest will be suitably placed without clashes. </li></ul><ul><li>Planning of events will be done during vacation. </li></ul><ul><li>After a progress presentation, next step will be planned. </li></ul><ul><li>Online registration will be conducted. </li></ul>

The Present Stance <ul><li>The representatives from each branch are already very enthusiastic to work together. </li></ul><ul><li>Even the response from the branch heads is very positive. </li></ul><ul><li>The two month vacation is a huge boost towards planning and implementing the fest. </li></ul>

Organizational Structure <ul><li>A committee consisting of representatives from all branches along with one faculty member will decide the entire structure of the events. </li></ul><ul><li>In case of multi disciplinary events like Robotics, 2 or more branches can form committees and work together. </li></ul><ul><li>Once the events are planned other committees will be formed.viz stage, transportation, food. </li></ul>

Budget <ul><li>A National Fest will definitely incur a lot of expenses. </li></ul><ul><li>For Events the respective branch can pool in funds from their branch. </li></ul><ul><li>Individual branch Fest expenditure can be routed to the Tech fest. </li></ul><ul><li>Once the planning is done the estimates will be clear. </li></ul>
  12. 14. Accommodation <ul><li>We are expecting around 400 participants. </li></ul><ul><li>By limiting the number of outstation participants to 200,we can tackle the accommodation problem. </li></ul><ul><li>We can accommodate students in Galaxy hostel, Karkala and Parpale Hills, Athur. </li></ul>
  13. 15. Timeline <ul><li>June – July planning of events and schedule </li></ul><ul><li>August-Website will be up </li></ul><ul><li>September-Promotion and implementation of planning. </li></ul><ul><li>October Fest will be held. </li></ul>
