This presentation desribes the rise in Latina women entrepreneurship. Latina women are taking on positions in business-ownership something that was unheard of even a decade ago. This presentation suggests that these numbers will continue to soar and position Latina's differently from here forward.

  2. 2. A 60 percent increase in Latin American small businesses is due mainly to Latina women
  3. 3. 1 out of every 20 US-born Latina 1 out of every 10 foreign born Latina are self-employed
  4. 4. Latinas are mostly micro-entrepreneurs having few or no employees
  5. 5. There are about 787,914 Hispanic women-owned businesses in the U.S.
  6. 6. This shift in Latino businesses ownership has created a Latino middle class
  7. 7. No longer living in barrios but are mainstreaming in middle class
  8. 8. Latinas start small businesses striving for financial independence for their families
  9. 9. Revenues of these businesses have increased 57.8 percent since 2002
  10. 10. The estimated revenue of Hispanic women- owned firms across the U.S. totals $55.7 billion
  11. 11. There is a rise in organizations focused on Latina entrepreneurs
  12. 12. Latina’s are taking their place in leadership roles and are achieving roles in business that were unheard of even a decade ago.
