About some information Tagore wrote poetry as an eight year old. Age of sixteen he released his first substantial poems. Tagore’s novels, stories, dramas his topics spoke political and personal. Gitanjali – best work . His compositions were chosen by two nations as national anthems-Indians Jana Gana Mana and Bangladeh’Amar Shona Bangla’.
  5. 5. Tagore reacted to the halfhearted uptake of modernist and realist techniques in Bengali literature by writing matching experimental works in the 1930s

Tagore as a Poet  Tagore's poetic style, which proceeds from a lineage established by 15th- and 16th-century Vaishnava poets, ranges from classical formalism to the comic, visionary, and ecstatic. He was influenced by the atavistic mysticism of Vyasa and other rishiauthors of the Upanisads, the Bhakti- Sufi mystic Kabir and Ramprasad Sen. Tagore's most innovative and mature poetry embodies his exposure to Bengali rural folk music, which included mystic Baul ballads.

  10. 10. Tagore's poetry has been set to music by composers: Arthur Shepherd's triptych for soprano and string quartet. Tagore ‘s poem “Stream of Life” from Gitanjali. That after was composed and recorded.
  11. 11. Stream of Life “The same stream of life that runs through my veins night and day runs through the world and dances in rhythmic measures. It is the same life that shoots in joy through the dust of the earth in numberless blades of grass and breaks into tumultuous waves of leaves and flowers. It is the same life that is rocked in the ocean-cradle of birth and of death, in ebb and in flow. I feel my limbs are made glorious by the touch of this world of life. And my pride is from the life-throb of ages dancing in my blood this moment.”
