Moving Picture Experts Group• Filename Extension: .mp3• a patented digital audio encoding format using a form of lossy data compression;• a common audio format for consumer audio storage, as well as a de facto standard of digital audio compression for the transfer and playback of music on digital audio players.

MIDI• Musical Instrument Digital Interface• Filename Extension: .mid• an industry-standard protocol that enables electronic musical instruments (synthesizers, drum machines), computers and other electronic equipment (MIDI controllers, sound cards, samplers) to communicate and synchronize with each other.

  18. 18. WMV• Windows Media Video• Filename Extension: .wmv – it is developed by Microsoft; – it was originally designed for internet streaming applications because it is the most common format on the net.
  19. 19. 3GP• Third Generation Partnership Project (for 3G Phones)• Filename Extension: .3gp both an audio and video format that was designed as a multimedia format for transmitting audio and video files between 3G cell phones and the internet.

  21. 21. MP4• MPEG-4 Part 14• Filename Extension: .mp4 most commonly used to store digital video and digital audio streams, especially those defined by MPEG, but can also be used to store other data such as subtitles and still images.

  25. 25. ASF• Advanced Systems Format• Advanced Streaming Format• Filename Extension: .asf It is intended for streaming and is used to support playback from digital media and HTTP servers, and to support storage devices such as hard disks.
