Why Is Mandatory Giving Important
John Arthur states that giving should be up to the individual and in a system where giving is
mandatory, people would not be accepting of it. If we think of human nature in general, we can say
that many would think of human nature to be greedy. Self–preservation comes first for many
because you're your own person. You control to some extent your quality of life and your choices
day to day literally make or break you. Many people would not trust in a system where they are
mandated to give from their own means to an entire stranger because they have no ties to that
person. We can explore this in our lives because many people die of various causes such as hunger,
many people all over the world that we do not know, however it largely remains out ... Show more

It is certainly good to give, but it's not necessarily bad to not give. The money that you earn through
whatever means is meant to be your own, you earned it, you worked hard for it. Having earned said
money, you should have the right to do with it as you please. The reason people work so hard for
their money is to benefit from it, that money is meant to enrich their own lives, they sowed the
seeds, so they intend to reap the rewards. If we were to give a portion of our money away, or maybe
enough of it away to where we all lived equal and basic lives, people would be less inclined to work
harder as they would see no point in doing so, the end result will be the same regardless of work
ethic. Certainly, it is a good and generous thing to give but deciding not to give does not make you
immoral. As you visit various stores throughout the day, such as a McDonalds or Marshalls, they
may ask you to donate to some sort of charity or research program for a disease. Now you may have
donated sometime in the past, and feel that's all you want to give. The stores will continue to keep
asking you to donate and you have that right to politely decline each time. Even if you have never
donated in the past, you are still entitled to politely decline each time simply because the money you
have is yours and no one else's. You do not have any formal agreements with various organizations
or people for that matter

What Is A Place To Live Essay
Where to Live Do you know where you are going to live when you get older? Town and country are
both popular places to live. More people in the U.S. live in town, because there are a lot of big
cities. Also there are more houses in town than in the country because they cramp houses together.
Some people think that living in the country is better than living in town, while other think living in
town is better. In this essay, we will figure out which place is better to live based on these three
topics: Which place is more peaceful, where you have more freedom, and which place is safer.
Living in town is a great place to live, but is it peaceful, do you have freedom, and is it safe? I
would say that living in town is not very peaceful, because there are a lot of neighbors very close to
you. What if your neighbor has a party and keeps you up all night. Another reason it isn't peaceful is
because in town there ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I think that you living in the country is more peaceful because you have less neighbors surrounding
your house. You may have a couple, but not a lot. Another reason is you are mostly by yourself
unless you are married or have kids. I also think that you have more freedoms if you live in the
country. There are no neighbors watching to turn you in. Also you will more than likely have a fairly
large yard where you can do extra curricular activities. Big yards are also beneficial if you have kids
so they can do something other than sit in the house all day and play video games. I think that it is
not as safe as, because you do not have as many neighbors to look out for you. If your house starts
on fire there are no neighbors to call the fire department for you. There is one to keep you in line,
you are out there all by yourself. I will share with you a real life scenario from about 3 years ago,
where I had to choose what place I like

Concrete Angel Analysis
Analysis of "Concrete Angel"
Many generations view music as a form of entertainment only, so our society tends to overlook the
messages behind the music. Many artists use music to promote their beliefs or inform their listeners
about overlooked issues. Music spreads awareness about misfortunes in the world, and Martina
McBride used her celebrity status to promote her own concerns about child abuse. In 2002, Martina
McBride recorded a song "Concrete Angel" to spread awareness about child abuse. Her song is
intended for the general population that are bystanders because most people are aware of tragedies
such as child abuse, and most tragedies can be prevented. Through the elements of plot, character,
and foreshadowing, "Concrete Angel" illustrates the story of a young girl's abuse in order to call the
bystanders to awareness of the societal problem. Throughout the song, the plot consists of multiple
bystanders. The bystander that is mentioned in verse two is, "The teacher wonders, but she doesn't
ask/It's hard to see the pain behind the mask" (lines 5–6). The teacher suspects the girl has an issue
with abuse, but she ignores her suspicions, assuming the girl is happy because she hides it well. The
teacher's reaction is a common experience for many adults because adults assume the child appears
okay. The following situation that involved a bystander was, "Somebody cries in the middle of the
night/The neighbors hear, but they turn out the light" (15–16). The lyric states that

Why Is Cheating Bad
There is times where cheating is really bad, because people do it for fun and they don't actually learn
anything at all. This have gone all around the world to where people cheat all the time and don't see
what really is happening people don't learn anything because all they do is cheat, that's not good
there are business where they need people that are smart and that know what to do without begin
told to. People just like the easy way in life which is to CHEAT in all they can just to get the work or
job that they were assigned to. The reason people decide is mainly because its is to copy and paste

Such as entertainers, politics that do this just to make people happy. People sometimes do it for good
thing like to make people happy also make them laugh and stuff like that. Sometimes it's good to
cheat and sometimes it not good. Because there is a time where you can do it once or twice but not
all the time. Cheating is always happening weather it's for school or sports or even jobs. People are
gonna cheat no matter what people say or do. They are not gonna change. People like t sometimes
do this for fun and just to make people mad. But there are people who put there time to make things
and other people just steal there work and that's plagiarism which People could go to jail or get in
trouble in that objective. So at the end it's sometimes good and bad to cheat. Just know when it's the
right time to cheat and when it's

Harassment In The Workplace Scenarios
Scenario 1
Racial or possibly one to due with religious holidays (little less repetitive)

Your co–worker asks to use your computer briefly to fix a mistake in a file he needs to print out.
Like a good co–worker you allow him to use your computer. Your co–worker opens the program and
turns to you and says,
"Why haven't you updated your software?"
"The price is excessive and I don't want to learn how to use the new one." Your co–worker laughs

Harasser:

Why A Project Can Fail Such As Poor Cost Management
Task 1 P3, M1
Their are many reasons why a project can fail such as poor cost management. This can cause a
project to fail because it can cause the project to go either over–budget or under–budget. Going
over–budget will cause the most problems for the project as it could leave the without any money
for important resources which will stop the progress of the project. It could also cause the company
to go bankrupt of they where relying on the project to stay in business and its not ready in time
because of the lack of money. While not as likely going under–budget can cause the project
problems for the project because it could cause the project to not be as at the quality it needed to be.
If people know the product is a lower quality than a competitors they will more likely to go buy
their product. To avoid this you should make sure keep track of the money you're spending you can
do this by keeping a log in programs such as Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Word. A log should allow
you to monitor how much money you are spending so that you can make sure you always have
enough money.
Time management is important because as if a project takes too long/short amount of time it could
cause major problems. Going over the allotted time can cause problems for the project because it
may cause people to leave the project as they become sick of waiting for the project to be finished.
And example of this is the game The Last Guardian where some of the people working on the
project left to

Pharmacy Technician Research Paper
When I get older and advance in my career, I would like to be a Certified Pharmacy Technician.
Pharmacy Technician is a health care provider who provides pharmacy related functions to people
who need medication. We can also work for long–term facilities, third party insurance companies
and pharmaceutical manufactures. A pharmacy technician job is never an easy job. Maybe one day I
could even become a Pharmacist. A pharmacist is the person who writes prescriptions, knows what
drug a client needs and can diagnose a person. Where on the other hand, a pharmacy technician
works under them. We give out and sort the medication. A pharmacy technician cannot diagnose a
patient. I plan to work hard and get my certifications to get to where they are so I will be able to
diagnose people and have that title. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

be certified to work as a pharmacy technician, but if you do get certified you will get paid more. You
could make up to 40,000 dollars per year if certified. Working at a retail store, you would be
considered as a Pharmacy Service Associate. Pharmacy Technician are known everywhere, Nigeria,
Germany, United Kingdom and India. If you would to like to become an LPN, taking a Pharmacy
Technician class wouldn't hurt because when you go to nursing school you would have to take three
pharmacy technician classes. It would be excellent because you would already have some
knowledge. In my trade, there are 100 pills that we have to know the name, side effects and

All I Really Need To Know I Learned In Kindergarten
It is simple, follow these steps, and you will be happier. Robert Fulghum wrote the book All I Really
Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten. In this book he mentioned three major, but simple lessons:
put things back where you found them, play and work some everyday, hold hands and stick together.
These important rules for kindergarten are also important rules for life, and apply to our everyday
lives. For one to be happy, you need to simply, live a little. If you wake up, get dressed, go to work,
come home, and go to bed everyday, you're not going to have a fun, happy life. When Fulghum said
play and work some everyday, he didn't mean go play tag for an hour. Make the most out of
everyday. Solely having a smile on your face can make your

Geography In Canada
Geography influences an individual worlds view in many ways. It impacts the location of where you
choose to live and where you would like to have your family. What you wear is influenced by the
geography also, because if the climate is colder you would have to wear more layers, unless you
would live to freeze and die but if you live in a warmer climate they would have to wear less layers.
Geography would also be influenced in what you value, for example if you live in Canada you
would value forests more because we have 9% of the forests on earth. The lifestyle of someone who
lives in japan would be very different from someone who lives in Canada would. How physically
active you are might also be determined by the geography, for example if you

If Not For Them
If not for them....where would we be? This is a broad question that could be answered a different
way to any person. When I first read through the requirements for this essay, I perceived it as
referring to veterans, because Hays C. Kirby was a veteran. The more I contemplated it, the more
the question puzzled me because there were so many ways that a person could move forward with it.
Finally, I came to the conclusion that to me, the "them" that the question asks about, is not one
group of people, but every person that has graced this earth. If even one person had not lived, our
lives would be changed substantially. Every person has impacted you, me, and everyone around us.
As I thought about this even more, I realized just how true that ... Show more content on

Then you have your siblings. When you are the oldest, they look up to you in every way, which
makes you work to be a better role model and a better person. If you are the youngest, you rely on
your older siblings to be that model of what you are going to be someday. Lastly, look at your
grandparents. They set the model for how your parents act and how they treat the ones around them.
The further back you go in your ancestry, the further back you see how your relatives affected each
other and helped each other. Then there is you at the bottom of the tree, and eventually, you will
affect just as many people that are related to you.
If not for our friends, where would we be? This one is a little more bit tricky to describe than some
other topics in this essay. Some people have friends that are not good for them, and others have the
best friends that they could imagine. I've been lucky enough to have 3 very close friends for quite
awhile and I would dare to claim that they are in the best friends imaginable category. Some people
don't get that opportunity like I have. Without my friends, I would be a totally different person, and
here is why. The thing that we have to realize about friendship is that to make friends, you have to
have courage. Remember that first day of kindergarten when you didn't know anyone out on the
playground? Somehow, your five–year–old self found a way to build up enough courage to go talk
to the little boy

Personal Narrative Essay : A Day In Paradise
A Day in Paradise The house that used to be in the middle of the country with miles of land and
nobody to be seen or heard. It was the house I used to see every Friday. It had a gravel driveway a
mile long, grass cut perfectly, and the smell of fresh air all around. There was a massive tree in the
front yard that was the size of a skyscraper that the kids used to play on. Then you would see the
cute brown house on the hill. It was as the house that seemed so big when I was a kid, but the bigger
I got, the smaller the house seemed to become. My Grandma's house was like going to a museum,
because it always had things to look at and explore. I remember it as the house of laughter and
happiness. When you walk in it has a wonderful smell of coffee beans and cookies that looked like
cumulus clouds, and an atmosphere that's as fresh as laundry that's been air drying outside all day.
When you first walk in you see all my cousins snacking in the kitchen. Going further into the house
the living room is a sharp right, but not too sharp of a right or you'll end up in a forest of
philodendron. As you proceed to take the right you'll end up in the living room where all the aunts

Analysis Of Concrete Angel By Martina Mcbride
Most audiences view music as a form of entertainment only, so society tends to overlook the
messages behind the music. Some artists use music to promote their beliefs or inform their listeners
about unnoticed issues. Music can spread awareness about misfortunes in the world, and Martina
McBride uses her celebrity status to promote her own concerns about child abuse. In 2002, Martina
McBride recorded a song titled "Concrete Angel" to spread awareness about child abuse. Her song
addresses the general population, consisting of bystanders, because most people are aware of
tragedies such as child abuse, but they ignore the problem. Through emotional appeals,
characterization, imagery, and foreshadowing, "Concrete Angel" illustrates the story of a young
girl's abuse in order to call the bystanders to awareness of the societal problem. Throughout the
song, the story creates emotional appeal with the use of bystanders. The bystander mentioned in
verse two is, "The teacher wonders, but she doesn't ask/ It's hard to see the pain behind the mask"
(lines 5–6). The teacher's reaction is a common experience for many adults because most adults
assume the child is not abused if he or she appears okay. Another bystander mentioned is,
"Somebody cries in the middle of the night/ The neighbors hear, but they turn out the light" (15–16).
Since the bystander ignores her plea for help, the audience develops sympathy for her because the
girl is helpless. Sympathy is the main objective of these lyrics, and if the audience has compassion
for the young girl, they might take action instead of being bystanders. Through emotional appeals,
the underlying message of these lyrics attempts to persuade the listeners not to be complacent as
bystanders. The artist uses music to evoke people's emotion because most people listen and relate to
music. The article "Martina McBride Finds Additional Voices to Express Herself Ahead of Show in
North Myrtle Beach" mentions, "Raising awareness, she [Martina McBride] said, 'makes you feel
something as an individual to make a difference, and we all appreciate that'" (Palisin). When
bystanders take action, they can prevent an abusive situation and raise more awareness. "Concrete
Angel" characterizes the

The Salvation Army: One Of The Different Types Of Charity
When Christmas comes around, it's time for all the different types of charities to come out. The
Salvation Army is one of them; they are out everywhere looking for people to give money. When
they are ringing the bell, people do not ask what does this support. They are instantly digging in
their pockets, wallets, and purses to find loose change. When they find coins or dollar bills, they just
put them in the red bucket and keep on walking. Why do people do this? People should research
charities before giving because the money may not be spent on what the charity says, may not reach
the people in need, or could just go to waste. Let's say you are going to Target and there is a charity
out front asking people for money and you do not know what kind of charity it is or what it
supports. Like one charity says the money will help the little children in the hospital. But do you
really know where your money is going towards? Would you still give them money, keep on
walking, or go home and look up the charity. Most people would give them money because it is
Christmas time and it's a charity that needs money for whatever it is for. Other people just keep on
walking and does not pay any attention to the charity because they don't have a clue what the charity

Natalie's Comments In Not Ready To Make Nice
Natalie's comments in her lyric "Not Ready to Make Nice", reveals some of the impacts that her

comments has on the band group is a personal one. An example of a personal impact being
displayed is from the stanza, "I've paid a price, and I'll keep paying"(Not Ready to Make Nice). That
comment from Natalie shows a personal impact indirectly since that she, through the context of the

Another impact that Natalie's comment has on the band is a social impact. Similarly for the personal

experience social impacts because of some people not wanting her to speak her mind as stated when
she replies, "You think I should"(Not Ready to Make Nice) to people who are saying to her
figuratively, or literally to her not to speak what is from her conscience. Because of Natalie
presenting her views to the public, the band yet again has to choose between losing popularity
because of some people hating Natalies comments putting their hate on Natallie, and the people who
support her, or ditch her and not lose their popularity because of some haters of Natallie's work. In
addition to the social consequences having similar aspects to the repercussions from the personal
impact of picking between dilemmas, the social impact also is one that is challenging not just a
conscious decision that is going to affect their mind, but is going to affect their relationship with the

Should Teachers Have Guns In Schools
"The world is filled with violence. Because criminals carry guns,we decent law–abiding citizens
should also have guns. Otherwise they will win and the decent people will lose." James Earl Jones
said this in an interview when he was asked about being a member of the National Rifle
Association(Brianyquote.com). Every time there is a school shooting multiple questions come to
mind. What would have happened if a teacher had a gun? Should teachers have guns in schools?
Would it really be significant? If teachers were allowed to have a firearm in the classroom more
questions come up. What would happen if a student got a hold of the gun? Where would they keep
the gun?
In Pearl, Mississippi an assistant high school principal ran a mile to get his gun at home and stopped
a shooting 11 minutes before police got there. Joel Myrick, the assistant principal, would have not
had to run home to get his gun if The Gun–Free School Zones Act of 1995 would have not been

Evolutionist William B. Provine says: "What we have learned about the evolutionary process has
enormous implications for us, affecting our sense of meaning in life." His conclusion? "I can see no
cosmic or ultimate meaning in human life." Consider the significance of those words. If ultimate
meaning in life were nonexistent, then you would have no purpose in living other than to try to do
some measure of good and perhaps pass on your genetic traits to the next generation. At death, you
would cease to exist forever. Your brain, with its ability to think, reason, and meditate on the
meaning of life, would simply be an accident of nature. That is not all. Many who believe in
evolution assert that God does not exist or that he will not intervene in human affairs. In either case,
our future would rest in the hands of political, academic, and religious leaders. Judging from the
past record of such men, the chaos, conflict, and corruption that blight human society would
continue. If, indeed, evolution were true, there would seem to be ample reason to live by the
fatalistic motto: "Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we are to die." So the reason it does matter is it
gives us a purpose and a hope. So does it matter what you believe? Yes it does! So where do you

Analysis Of Quotes From 'The Giver'
I would not want to live in the society from The Giver. Do you wanna live in a society where all you
do is listen? Follow along? Don't have a say in anything? Be in a world where everything is the
same? I thought so. That's what a utopian society is a world where everything is the same. Me? I
would not wanna live in a utopian society, here is why.....
I would not like the sameness. Like on (Lowery 3), "Leave your bicycles where they are." I would
not like this because they are always told what to do, no freedom. "Or what if we choose our own
jobs, that would be crazy. And not safe. (Lowery 90) I do not agree with that, what if you don't get
something that you don't like or enjoy. "We could see colors instead of sameness." (Lowery 91) I do
like this quote because Jonas is starting to realize that sameness is not good. It's good to be different.

Attention, this is a reminder to all male elevens... (Lowery 32) I don't want to live in a society based

Love: Love And Love
Love. Friendship. Love or friendship. Why does one have to pick between one or the other? A
relationship has recently ended. One full of ultimatums, broken promises, violence... emotionally
and physical violence. Relationship that has, over the months, become full of lies, mistrust and
toxic. It was hard to walk away from something and someone who one has gotten use, use to waking
up every morning, talking to every single day, and simply their presence. How does one become so
feed up to the point one has to find strength in order to leave, in order to find better and be better for
themselves? A friendship was made that day, one where I was able to feel free, however with a

When they are about to take a piece of your heart? If one is willing to lose everything the edge of
the abyss would never be tall enough. But if instead you are not willing to lose it, the most minimum

is always decisions that need to be made. Sometimes they are small, insignificant. Sometimes they
are huge, that can change everything in your life forever... happiness or sorrowness. When you
cannot have everything, one must make a choice and when you do it, there is always the feeling that
a mistake has been made. But, what is the right decision? How to make a choice without wondering
that in the future one might regret it? Sometimes leave things how they are is the best solution. Love

Tok 'Habit Is Stronger Than Reason' to What Extent Is This...
'Habit is stronger than reason.' To what extent is this true in two areas of knowledge? Habit could be
referred to as a tradition people have. Many people have habits that they are unaware of, for
example, when people put their socks on, some people do the right first and some people do the left
first. Habit is a factor that is present all through a person's daily life. Habit represents the way in
which we do things because we do it every day continuously. Habit is particularly important because
learning something doesn't make you better at it unless you practice it enough times. An old kung fu
saying is "I'm not afraid of the man that known 1000 moves and practiced them all once, I'm afraid

Humans by design are creatures of habit. Every day we tend to go through the same ritual if daily
life. It may be the same routine every morning (i.e: wake up, shower, change cloths, pack bag, put

you want to. Sometimes however, you can break out of your habit easily and sometimes it can be

Mouth Guard, which is technology and stuff where they just help out. They help out in the
auditorium or an assembly. When they have an assembly, they call us, a group of children who are in
the group, and they tell us to go set up the AV room where we put the DVD player, turn on the sound
and everything. We have some kids on the bottom checking the lights to the board so that they can

Is Abortion Morally Permissible Essay
Do I think that abortion is morally permissible? Yes, my argument is that I believe that abortion can
be morally permissible but only in a few cases. The cases where that I find it where it is morally
permissible is when the mother doesn't have the right qualifications to raise the child, when the
woman is raped, and where it would cause serious health issues for her and the baby that can lead up
to death for the both of them. If you were to just get an abortion because you didn't like who the

fluids in hopes that it doesn't cause problems with the baby. Sometimes it isn't enough and do matter

Know Where To Draw The line (American Dream) Does people ever ask you where you draw the

something happened when you're out with friends. The main places that I would really think about
where I would draw the line is at a party, hanging out with friends after school and during a school
event. The first place that I would really stop and think about where I draw the line is at a party.
There are lots of things that go wrong at a party, i'm not talking about a little kid's birthday party. I'm

worked on events on past gaming sites for example when I was working on an MLG Partner

arena as they are called and would like to bring that over here to OPCraft. I am a very rational and
reasonable person who can make decisions even under pressure. I always make sure I make the
correct decision before making it as it's not about rushing into a ban lets say it's about getting it right

the story because when Connie is at home she behaves like a brat and when she's with her friend
she's a completely different person; she dresses more provocatively. At home Connie wasn't the

so shocked she didn't expect reality to hit so hard. When Arnold showed up he came for the mature

My Aphorism
My aphorism is hold tight to your roots but be open to the future. This is aphorism really relates to
me and what I believe in. It shows the importance of knowing who you are but also being open to
new things to come in the future. Holding tight to your roots means remembering where you came
from and what standards and ideals are important to you. In my aphorism when I say be open to the
future it means being open to new ways of thinking and change later on in your life. My aphorism
means remembering who you are but not letting that hold you back in the future. My aphorism is
important because it tells you to remember who you are, where you came from, and to remember the
ideals and standards that you have. Also, be open to other ideas or things happening in your life in
the future. To me my aphorism means holding on to my ideals and standards and knowing where I
came from. Even later on in life towards the future I will always remember who I am but be open to
new things that are to come. My aphorism shapes and effects my decisions because when I make my
decisions I remember who I am and my standards. I also know to be open to new things in life and
new ways of thinking. The aphorism I have chosen has helped me to not be so stubborn. It has also
helped me to be more open to change. My aphorism can help an individual because anyone can
relate to it. Everyone has roots. Most people have a specific set of standards that they try to live by.
My aphorism can also help by showing people what they already know but then expounding on that
idea in the future. The good that people can find in my aphorism is the fact that it can relate to
anybody's life. In my aphorism it talks about remembering who you are and where you came from
but still being open to new things life. The good that it shows is remembering who you are but being
open to the future to come. The effect of ignoring my aphorism is not being able to be open to new
ideas and ways of thinking in the future. Not being able to remember your roots and where you
came from. You lose your identity and who you really truly are. Society would benefit from living
by my aphorism because it would show society to remember who they are and their

Winning Heights in the Men's Olympic High Jumps Introduction: The Olympics are an international
sporting event that is held every four years where people from around the world send their best
athletes to compete and see who the best of the best is when it comes to sports. The Olympics date
back to Ancient Greece where their basic events included track and field, which are like men's high
jump which is the topic of this report. In this problem we are looking at the data collected from the
gold medalists in the men's high jump in from the years 1932–1980, excluding the years 1940 and
1944 where the Olympics were not held due to World War II. Below is the data for the gold

The graph of this function is shown below On the graph above you can see that both the quadratic
and the line are both adequate representations of the data collected by gold medalists for the men's
high jumps in the Olympics. Both of these lines follow the plots made on the original graph and they
don't stray too far from those lines either. There only outlier for the quadratic seem to be the
medalist from the 1948 Olympics because his height is far below the quadratic. There might be
some problems with the exact position of where the quadratic is and where the line is because they
were drawn by hand and not on the computer like the stat plots which could potentially cause
problems for interpreting the data. To figure out what the predicted outcome of both the 1940 and
1944 Olympics all you have to do is plug in 1940 in to the equation y=3.02x+191, which was what
was used in the graph that showed just the linear equation, to figure out this answer for the 1940
Olympics. You can do this because in this case the x represents the year and when you place in the
year and solve out the equation you get what the predicted height would be for 1940. When you plug
in all the numbers you get 200.6 cm as the predicted height for 1940. In the case of 1944 you would
do the exact same thing but instead of plugging in 1940 in for x you would plug 1944 into the
equation. For the 1944 the predicted answer for the height of the men's long jump would be 200.3
cm. The problem also

Where I Would Like You Be? Essay
Where I would like to be? Working with people in the corporate world and understanding social
behaviors is without a doubt a setting where I want to continue gaining experience and expanding
my knowledge in. Idealistically I would love to see myself in a position where it would be
intrinsically as well as extrinsically rewarding; I am at the age where I finally understand that money
does not equate happiness. As a novice in the filed I do not yet have sufficient understanding of all
the positions available with the degree in I/O. A plethora of occupations could benefit from the
understanding of the fundamental principles provided by an I/O psychologist. While working at
Ross, I catch myself observing the hierarchical pyramid of the HR department, trying to envision
where I would love to see myself in 10 years. I am particularly intrigued and keen on learning more
from the HR consulting sector of the firm, specializing in a variety of fields (i.e employee
incentives, reward programs, benefits). However, I have also realized by observing the Vice
President of the HR consulting firm that the stress level within the high level jobs in this particular

Why Is Mandatory Giving Important

  • 1. Why Is Mandatory Giving Important John Arthur states that giving should be up to the individual and in a system where giving is mandatory, people would not be accepting of it. If we think of human nature in general, we can say that many would think of human nature to be greedy. Self–preservation comes first for many because you're your own person. You control to some extent your quality of life and your choices day to day literally make or break you. Many people would not trust in a system where they are mandated to give from their own means to an entire stranger because they have no ties to that person. We can explore this in our lives because many people die of various causes such as hunger, many people all over the world that we do not know, however it largely remains out ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is certainly good to give, but it's not necessarily bad to not give. The money that you earn through whatever means is meant to be your own, you earned it, you worked hard for it. Having earned said money, you should have the right to do with it as you please. The reason people work so hard for their money is to benefit from it, that money is meant to enrich their own lives, they sowed the seeds, so they intend to reap the rewards. If we were to give a portion of our money away, or maybe enough of it away to where we all lived equal and basic lives, people would be less inclined to work harder as they would see no point in doing so, the end result will be the same regardless of work ethic. Certainly, it is a good and generous thing to give but deciding not to give does not make you immoral. As you visit various stores throughout the day, such as a McDonalds or Marshalls, they may ask you to donate to some sort of charity or research program for a disease. Now you may have donated sometime in the past, and feel that's all you want to give. The stores will continue to keep asking you to donate and you have that right to politely decline each time. Even if you have never donated in the past, you are still entitled to politely decline each time simply because the money you have is yours and no one else's. You do not have any formal agreements with various organizations or people for that matter ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. What Is A Place To Live Essay Where to Live Do you know where you are going to live when you get older? Town and country are both popular places to live. More people in the U.S. live in town, because there are a lot of big cities. Also there are more houses in town than in the country because they cramp houses together. Some people think that living in the country is better than living in town, while other think living in town is better. In this essay, we will figure out which place is better to live based on these three topics: Which place is more peaceful, where you have more freedom, and which place is safer. Living in town is a great place to live, but is it peaceful, do you have freedom, and is it safe? I would say that living in town is not very peaceful, because there are a lot of neighbors very close to you. What if your neighbor has a party and keeps you up all night. Another reason it isn't peaceful is because in town there ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I think that you living in the country is more peaceful because you have less neighbors surrounding your house. You may have a couple, but not a lot. Another reason is you are mostly by yourself unless you are married or have kids. I also think that you have more freedoms if you live in the country. There are no neighbors watching to turn you in. Also you will more than likely have a fairly large yard where you can do extra curricular activities. Big yards are also beneficial if you have kids so they can do something other than sit in the house all day and play video games. I think that it is not as safe as, because you do not have as many neighbors to look out for you. If your house starts on fire there are no neighbors to call the fire department for you. There is one to keep you in line, you are out there all by yourself. I will share with you a real life scenario from about 3 years ago, where I had to choose what place I like ... • 5. Concrete Angel Analysis Analysis of "Concrete Angel" Many generations view music as a form of entertainment only, so our society tends to overlook the messages behind the music. Many artists use music to promote their beliefs or inform their listeners about overlooked issues. Music spreads awareness about misfortunes in the world, and Martina McBride used her celebrity status to promote her own concerns about child abuse. In 2002, Martina McBride recorded a song "Concrete Angel" to spread awareness about child abuse. Her song is intended for the general population that are bystanders because most people are aware of tragedies such as child abuse, and most tragedies can be prevented. Through the elements of plot, character, and foreshadowing, "Concrete Angel" illustrates the story of a young girl's abuse in order to call the bystanders to awareness of the societal problem. Throughout the song, the plot consists of multiple bystanders. The bystander that is mentioned in verse two is, "The teacher wonders, but she doesn't ask/It's hard to see the pain behind the mask" (lines 5–6). The teacher suspects the girl has an issue with abuse, but she ignores her suspicions, assuming the girl is happy because she hides it well. The teacher's reaction is a common experience for many adults because adults assume the child appears okay. The following situation that involved a bystander was, "Somebody cries in the middle of the night/The neighbors hear, but they turn out the light" (15–16). The lyric states that ... One day you pull the female employee into your office and tell her that she isn't due for a promotion yet but if she agrees to go on a date with you, you could pull a few strings and get her a raise.

  • 12. Why A Project Can Fail Such As Poor Cost Management Task 1 P3, M1 Their are many reasons why a project can fail such as poor cost management. This can cause a project to fail because it can cause the project to go either over–budget or under–budget. Going over–budget will cause the most problems for the project as it could leave the without any money for important resources which will stop the progress of the project. It could also cause the company to go bankrupt of they where relying on the project to stay in business and its not ready in time because of the lack of money. While not as likely going under–budget can cause the project problems for the project because it could cause the project to not be as at the quality it needed to be. If people know the product is a lower quality than a competitors they will more likely to go buy their product. To avoid this you should make sure keep track of the money you're spending you can do this by keeping a log in programs such as Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Word. A log should allow you to monitor how much money you are spending so that you can make sure you always have enough money. Time management is important because as if a project takes too long/short amount of time it could cause major problems. Going over the allotted time can cause problems for the project because it may cause people to leave the project as they become sick of waiting for the project to be finished. Robert Fulghum wrote the book All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten. In this book he mentioned three major, but simple lessons: put things back where you found them, play and work some everyday, hold hands and stick together. These important rules for kindergarten are also important rules for life, and apply to our everyday lives. For one to be happy, you need to simply, live a little. If you wake up, get dressed, go to work, come home, and go to bed everyday, you're not going to have a fun, happy life. When Fulghum said play and work some everyday, he didn't mean go play tag for an hour. Make the most out of everyday. Solely having a smile on your face can make your ... • 24. If Not For Them If not for them....where would we be? This is a broad question that could be answered a different way to any person. When I first read through the requirements for this essay, I perceived it as referring to veterans, because Hays C. Kirby was a veteran. The more I contemplated it, the more the question puzzled me because there were so many ways that a person could move forward with it. Finally, I came to the conclusion that to me, the "them" that the question asks about, is not one group of people, but every person that has graced this earth. If even one person had not lived, our lives would be changed substantially. Every person has impacted you, me, and everyone around us. As I thought about this even more, I realized just how true that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Then you have your siblings. When you are the oldest, they look up to you in every way, which makes you work to be a better role model and a better person. If you are the youngest, you rely on your older siblings to be that model of what you are going to be someday. Lastly, look at your grandparents. They set the model for how your parents act and how they treat the ones around them. The further back you go in your ancestry, the further back you see how your relatives affected each other and helped each other. Then there is you at the bottom of the tree, and eventually, you will affect just as many people that are related to you. If not for our friends, where would we be? This one is a little more bit tricky to describe than some other topics in this essay. Some people have friends that are not good for them, and others have the best friends that they could imagine. I've been lucky enough to have 3 very close friends for quite awhile and I would dare to claim that they are in the best friends imaginable category. Some people don't get that opportunity like I have. Without my friends, I would be a totally different person, and here is why. The thing that we have to realize about friendship is that to make friends, you have to have courage. Remember that first day of kindergarten when you didn't know anyone out on the playground? It was the house I used to see every Friday. It had a gravel driveway a mile long, grass cut perfectly, and the smell of fresh air all around. There was a massive tree in the front yard that was the size of a skyscraper that the kids used to play on. Then you would see the cute brown house on the hill. It was as the house that seemed so big when I was a kid, but the bigger I got, the smaller the house seemed to become. My Grandma's house was like going to a museum, because it always had things to look at and explore. I remember it as the house of laughter and happiness. When you walk in it has a wonderful smell of coffee beans and cookies that looked like cumulus clouds, and an atmosphere that's as fresh as laundry that's been air drying outside all day. • 30. Analysis Of Concrete Angel By Martina Mcbride Most audiences view music as a form of entertainment only, so society tends to overlook the messages behind the music. Some artists use music to promote their beliefs or inform their listeners about unnoticed issues. Music can spread awareness about misfortunes in the world, and Martina McBride uses her celebrity status to promote her own concerns about child abuse. In 2002, Martina McBride recorded a song titled "Concrete Angel" to spread awareness about child abuse. Her song addresses the general population, consisting of bystanders, because most people are aware of tragedies such as child abuse, but they ignore the problem. Through emotional appeals, characterization, imagery, and foreshadowing, "Concrete Angel" illustrates the story of a young girl's abuse in order to call the bystanders to awareness of the societal problem. Throughout the song, the story creates emotional appeal with the use of bystanders. The bystander mentioned in verse two is, "The teacher wonders, but she doesn't ask/ It's hard to see the pain behind the mask" (lines 5–6). The teacher's reaction is a common experience for many adults because most adults assume the child is not abused if he or she appears okay. Another bystander mentioned is, "Somebody cries in the middle of the night/ The neighbors hear, but they turn out the light" (15–16). Since the bystander ignores her plea for help, the audience develops sympathy for her because the girl is helpless. Sympathy is the main objective of these lyrics, and if the audience has compassion for the young girl, they might take action instead of being bystanders. Through emotional appeals, the underlying message of these lyrics attempts to persuade the listeners not to be complacent as bystanders. The artist uses music to evoke people's emotion because most people listen and relate to music. The article "Martina McBride Finds Additional Voices to Express Herself Ahead of Show in North Myrtle Beach" mentions, "Raising awareness, she [Martina McBride] said, 'makes you feel something as an individual to make a difference, and we all appreciate that'" (Palisin). When bystanders take action, they can prevent an abusive situation and raise more awareness. "Concrete Angel" characterizes the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 32. The Salvation Army: One Of The Different Types Of Charity When Christmas comes around, it's time for all the different types of charities to come out. The Salvation Army is one of them; they are out everywhere looking for people to give money. When they are ringing the bell, people do not ask what does this support. They are instantly digging in their pockets, wallets, and purses to find loose change. When they find coins or dollar bills, they just put them in the red bucket and keep on walking. Why do people do this? People should research charities before giving because the money may not be spent on what the charity says, may not reach the people in need, or could just go to waste. Let's say you are going to Target and there is a charity out front asking people for money and you do not know what kind of charity it is or what it supports. Like one charity says the money will help the little children in the hospital. But do you really know where your money is going towards? Would you still give them money, keep on walking, or go home and look up the charity. One impact that Natalie's comments has on the band group is a personal one. An example of a personal impact being displayed is from the stanza, "I've paid a price, and I'll keep paying"(Not Ready to Make Nice). That comment from Natalie shows a personal impact indirectly since that she, through the context of the poem, has been paying the price of battling her conscience between the two dilemmas of speaking out what is in her mind, or hiding it inside herself because of choosing between saying what comes from her mind, or not saying anything, in which some people want her not to express ... Because of Natalie presenting her views to the public, the band yet again has to choose between losing popularity because of some people hating Natalies comments putting their hate on Natallie, and the people who support her, or ditch her and not lose their popularity because of some haters of Natallie's work. Otherwise they will win and the decent people will lose." James Earl Jones said this in an interview when he was asked about being a member of the National Rifle Association(Brianyquote.com). Every time there is a school shooting multiple questions come to mind. What would have happened if a teacher had a gun? Should teachers have guns in schools? Would it really be significant? If teachers were allowed to have a firearm in the classroom more questions come up. What would happen if a student got a hold of the gun? Where would they keep the gun? In Pearl, Mississippi an assistant high school principal ran a mile to get his gun at home and stopped a shooting 11 minutes before police got there. "I can see no cosmic or ultimate meaning in human life." Consider the significance of those words. If ultimate meaning in life were nonexistent, then you would have no purpose in living other than to try to do some measure of good and perhaps pass on your genetic traits to the next generation. At death, you would cease to exist forever. Your brain, with its ability to think, reason, and meditate on the meaning of life, would simply be an accident of nature. That is not all. Many who believe in evolution assert that God does not exist or that he will not intervene in human affairs. In either case, our future would rest in the hands of political, academic, and religious leaders. Judging from the past record of such men, the chaos, conflict, and corruption that blight human society would continue. Helper Rank Research What rank are you applying for?: Helper What is your age?: 27 Whats your IGN?: TGOutbreak Are you a Boy or Girl?: I'm a Male What country do you live in?: United kingdom Do you have a YouTube or Twitch channel?: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5E_WF_tQXxHRYlsn77BryQ Do you have a microphone/headset?: I do have a headset with a working microphone. Why do you want this rank?: I would like to obtain the Helper rank for a few reasons that I will list below. The First reason would be to help people within the OPCraft community, this being ingame, forums, teamspeak. Now on the flipside of this it would be to remove the trouble makers who are making other peoples playtime on the server less enjoyable. I like to help in general i.e give items away to players who need it mainly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another side to why I would like to obtain the rank is to make other Staff members job easier. With another Helper being added to the team it would lower the workload/stress off others so they don't end up panicking. Another reason I would like to be a Helper is to help the community grow. I have worked on events on past gaming sites for example when I was working on an MLG Partner company. I would arrange events with giveaways to try and bring more attention and activity to that arena as they are called and would like to bring that over here to OPCraft. I am a very rational and reasonable person who can make decisions even under pressure. I always make sure I make the correct decision before making it as it's not about rushing into a ban lets say it's about getting it right the first time around. Hopefully I can prove to the Community and Staff team that can do this with ease and to help make the community stronger as we go further and grow. Where Are You Going By looking at the story "Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been" we can see that a teenager by the name Connie is on the search for independence but also is still dependent on her parents, which most readers don't see; We see this happening when her friends dad took her and her friends to the movie theater (" Where Are You Going Where Have You Been 861"). That part is important in the story because when Connie is at home she behaves like a brat and when she's with her friend she's a completely different person; she dresses more provocatively. At home Connie wasn't the happiest, the relationship between her and her family isn't what you'd call normal, she's normally irritated with her mother and sister, her older sister Jane who is in ... She was forcibly drawn into the adult world without anyway of escaping it or anyone to help her, it was as if she was in her own personal hell whe n Arnold Friend showed up at her housing wanting to take her out for a ride with him (" Where Are You Going Where Have You Been 862"). Connie was so shocked she didn't expect reality to hit so hard. When Arnold showed up he came for the mature woman he saw last night and wasn't leaving until her got her to go with him. He even said to her that " I'm your lover. You don't know what that is but you will" and " The place where you come from ain't there anymore, and where you had in mind to go is cancelled out (" Where Are You Going Where Have You Been 868 and 871"). All she wanted to do at the moment was be in her parents arms but it was too late for her because the monster had came and got her . In conclusion we see where a typical teenager who is always mean to her family and is also going through puberty is ripped away from her adolescence and dragged into adult world a little too early. Arnold Friend misunderstood her maturity and used it against her. Connie also took her parents for granted and that moment when she realised she needed them the most they weren't ... In Jonas' society the Elders assign a job to the children after the Ceremony of the Twelve's. If our society operated like Jonas' then it would be horrible and if I were observed and got an assignment right now it would be at the House of the Old. In Jonas' society the Assignments are chosen by the Elders and that is their job for the rest of their life. When they are new children that is when the Elders start observing the children to see what job they think they would be good at. • 70. My Aphorism My aphorism is hold tight to your roots but be open to the future. This is aphorism really relates to me and what I believe in. It shows the importance of knowing who you are but also being open to new things to come in the future. Holding tight to your roots means remembering where you came from and what standards and ideals are important to you. In my aphorism when I say be open to the future it means being open to new ways of thinking and change later on in your life. My aphorism means remembering who you are but not letting that hold you back in the future. My aphorism is important because it tells you to remember who you are, where you came from, and to remember the ideals and standards that you have. Also, be open to other ideas or things happening in your life in the future. To me my aphorism means holding on to my ideals and standards and knowing where I came from. Even later on in life towards the future I will always remember who I am but be open to new things that are to come. My aphorism shapes and effects my decisions because when I make my decisions I remember who I am and my standards. I also know to be open to new things in life and new ways of thinking. The aphorism I have chosen has helped me to not be so stubborn. It has also helped me to be more open to change. My aphorism can help an individual because anyone can relate to it. Everyone has roots. Most people have a specific set of standards that they try to live by. My aphorism can also help by showing people what they already know but then expounding on that idea in the future. The good that people can find in my aphorism is the fact that it can relate to anybody's life. In my aphorism it talks about remembering who you are and where you came from but still being open to new things life. The good that it shows is remembering who you are but being open to the future to come. The effect of ignoring my aphorism is not being able to be open to new ideas and ways of thinking in the future. Not being able to remember your roots and where you came from. You lose your identity and who you really truly are. Society would benefit from living by my aphorism because it would show society to remember who they are and their ... Sl Math Ia Olympics Winning Heights in the Men's Olympic High Jumps Introduction: The Olympics are an international sporting event that is held every four years where people from around the world send their best athletes to compete and see who the best of the best is when it comes to sports. The Olympics date back to Ancient Greece where their basic events included track and field, which are like men's high jump which is the topic of this report. In this problem we are looking at the data collected from the gold medalists in the men's high jump in from the years 1932–1980, excluding the years 1940 and 1944 where the Olympics were not held due to World War II. Below is the data for the gold medalists in the men's high jump from the years 1932–1980 (again ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The graph of this function is shown below On the graph above you can see that both the quadratic and the line are both adequate representations of the data collected by gold medalists for the men's high jumps in the Olympics. Both of these lines follow the plots made on the original graph and they don't stray too far from those lines either. There only outlier for the quadratic seem to be the medalist from the 1948 Olympics because his height is far below the quadratic. There might be some problems with the exact position of where the quadratic is and where the line is because they were drawn by hand and not on the computer like the stat plots which could potentially cause problems for interpreting the data. To figure out what the predicted outcome of both the 1940 and 1944 Olympics all you have to do is plug in 1940 in to the equation y=3.02x+191, which was what was used in the graph that showed just the linear equation, to figure out this answer for the 1940 Olympics. You can do this because in this case the x represents the year and when you place in the year and solve out the equation you get what the predicted height would be for 1940. When you plug in all the numbers you get 200.6 cm as the predicted height for 1940. In the case of 1944 you would do the exact same thing but instead of plugging in 1940 in for x you would plug 1944 into the equation. For the 1944 the predicted answer for the height of the men's long jump would be 200.3 cm. The problem also ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 78. Where I Would Like You Be? Essay Where I would like to be? Working with people in the corporate world and understanding social behaviors is without a doubt a setting where I want to continue gaining experience and expanding my knowledge in. Idealistically I would love to see myself in a position where it would be intrinsically as well as extrinsically rewarding; I am at the age where I finally understand that money does not equate happiness. As a novice in the filed I do not yet have sufficient understanding of all the positions available with the degree in I/O. A plethora of occupations could benefit from the understanding of the fundamental principles provided by an I/O psychologist. While working at Ross, I catch myself observing the hierarchical pyramid of the HR department, trying to envision where I would love to see myself in 10 years. I am particularly intrigued and keen on learning more from the HR consulting sector of the firm, specializing in a variety of fields (i.e employee incentives, reward programs, benefits). However, I have also realized by observing the Vice President of the HR consulting firm that the stress level within the high level jobs in this particular employment area are ultimately very high. Supporting my realization, Pritchar, Hart, and Fuenton (1989) employment in the arena of HR consulting firms although they acquire a high starting salary, these specific roles also resonate high levels of pressure; "the overall amount of work demand" (28).
