  2. 2. No wonder Petalesharo was a chief the meaning of Petalesharo is “Commander of men” Petalesharo was the chief of the Pawnee tribe and he lived in Pa-huk’hill. Pa-huk’hill is near Fremont, NE.
  3. 3. P etalesharo was nice to white people and he also saved a girl from the Sioux tribe because his own tribe was going to sacrifice the girl to Morning Star. Petalesharo’s tribe believed Morning Star would make they’re crops grow well. But Petalesharo wasn’t so fond of sacrificing. So he saved the girl. After Petalesharo did that great deed was invited to meet President James Monroe.
  4. 4. Most people in the Pawnee died from small pox because they didn’t have a lot of medicine like we have today. And they didn’t live much older than age 33. But Petalesharo was born around in 1797 to 1874. If you can do the math. He’s Lucky!
