  2. 2. <ul><li>On May the 12 th 1851 a man named John </li></ul><ul><li>Havgraves found the largest nugget ever. </li></ul>History John Havgraves
  3. 3. <ul><li>Many countries came to Australia find gold such as North America, United Kingdom, Europe and China. </li></ul>Countries

Supplies <ul><li>Tea: The miners would drink lots of tea because they would be hot while working. </li></ul><ul><li>Blankets: The miners would need blankets because in Ballarat it is very cold and it will keep them warm. </li></ul><ul><li>Tents: The tent protected the miner from the rain and the hot sun </li></ul><ul><li>Meat: The mutton (old lamb) would last for 8 day .They put salt on the mutton so it can last longer </li></ul><ul><li>Flour: The miners would make damper of out flour and water. </li></ul>
  5. 5. Tools <ul><li>Some miners brought some of there tool such as picks, pans, cradles, shovels and a windlass </li></ul>
  6. 6. Location The gold rush was in Ballarat in Victoria .

  8. 8. Digging <ul><li>They began digging in the hard ground because they would find more gold. </li></ul><ul><li>Most miners would dig 10 meter because they would use a windlass to carry all to dirt up and pour it out and find gold. </li></ul>
