INPUT  The daily context that the managers work in is not taken sufficiently into account.  There is not sufficient focus on what the specific out come of the program is to be.  There are put way to many tools into the programs – programs are flooded with to much.   3. 3. INPUT  Your body and emotions are connected and we are now able to see what parts of the body the different emotions are connected to – beyond the facial expressions. E.g. when you are talking about butterflies in your stomach it does makes sense to talk and act on them as a person and in the work setting.  Train managers and employees in what and how to act when in contact with their own and the emotions of others. It is the underlying energy that guides/impact all situations we are a part of.  Our bodily emotions are universal and transcend our cultural boarders.   4. 4. WHAT TO DO Organizational Individual Identify the contents common ground and integrate it into the design of the program. Define the target group according to their operational context – do not over focus on their level or responsibility. Every time you are told about a tool, concept, theory or example make sure that you in your mind translate it into what that would look like or be in your context. Identify maximum 3 tools that are to be the backbone of the program and if they complement each other it is even better. Decide before the program starts what it is that you will learn - what your personal outcome will be. Be specific about the outcome, not done as headlines and generalizations. Be extremely clear on the outcomes of the program. Secure that the outcome is defined according the strategy or overarching goals of the company. You cannot learn everything. Pick maximum 3 things – limit your self. - Ascribe positive intentions to the facilitator – it will secure your focus on the content and not the personal behavior of the facilitator.
  5. 5. WHAT TO DO Organizational Individual Map the program content according to what emotional reactions are expected. The emotional journey the participants most likely are going to experience Map your bodily emotions when you are in flow and when you are stressed – you will better in knowing what signals to look for. Yes you have to do a drawing. Build into the program emotional ventilating – expressing emotions by doing something that put the body into action. State your emotional topography to others so they know why you are doing as you are. I also reduces your own tension. Identify the emotional mood of the organization and integrate it into to the design in order to match the participants. Not having the over happy approach if most are under stress and fighting to cope. Decide on what your emotional topography will be during specific part of the program. Program your self emotionally it can be done and helps you get most learning of the program.
