16. 16. Facts
The ROI is significant. E.g. a manager is characterized by his colleges, subordinates and family to turn angry very fast. Employees and colleges do not approach him if they can avoid it. In the family they do all they can to please him in order to avoid the anger. After 10 sessions of therapy his has discovered the root cause of his anger and found adaptive ways to manage his anger. Employees, colleges and family unanimously gives positive feedback; the old behavior is gone.
ROI only calculated for the business setting

10 Sessions = 10 x 150$
 17. 17. 2 Employees waste 6 hours each a week (internal time rate 90$)
 18. 18. 3 Colleges waste 2 hours each a week (internal time rate 100$)

((2px6h)x90$)+(3px2h)x100$)- 1500$)
=
12%
x 100
1500$
Break even would be after 17 weeks. If therapy had no impact the first 5 weeks and 50% impact the next 5 weeks and from the on full impact.
Pre history of cost due to anger not taken into account and managers salary during absence for therapy not included.
Comment:
The time rate is low if we are talking knowledge workers.
The waste time of 6 hours per week of an approximate 48 hour work week is 1/8 of the week is realistic if they need to work close together with the manager.
The internal time rates are comparable to what several businesses have.
Of course numbers can all ways be fixed to present the right value, I have tried to be fair, please give input if it is wrong.
The family-ROI has not been estimated also related effect on the employees and colleges into their context has not been taken into consideration.
Evidence
NKK Dec. 2010
