Audacity • Download and Install: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/windows – Make sure you have selected Audacity 1.2.6 installer – i.e.audacity-win-1.2.6.zip (this is the current stable version) • Next we need LAME MP3 encoder to allow Audacity to export MP3 files • Download and Install: http://lame.buanzo.com.ar/ – Make sure you have selected quot;For Audacity on Windows: Lame_v3.98.2_for_Audacity_on_Windows.exequot; (You will also reach the same page if you navigate from Audacity website) – LATEST UPDATE 28 APRIL 2009! • It appears the above-mentioned link may no longer be working! • Please download from http://tinyurl.com/itdownload (it’s a zip file so need to EXTRACT then run the .exe file) Slide 3

BEFORE U start recording… Check Preferences! • Edit> Preferences (or Ctrl+P) – Audio I/O tab Depends on your sound card If you are recording a new track, and there is a previous 2 (Stereo) track, it will also means Left + playback the old Right channels track while you - BUT since we record the new are only track recording single voice, set as 1 (Mono) - also saves some disk space Slide 5

So that Audacity will Click on Find Library work on a and browse to the copy of your location of the file track instead lame_enc.dll of the original - e.g. where you installed the LAME for Audacity (C:Program FilesLame for Audacity) Slide 7
