We’ll explore how to get set-up with an account, the highlights of the planning software and also look at how to create your technology inventory. We’ll be joined by Kendra Morgan from WebJunction who will be able to answer your questions about TechAtlas and help set you off in the right direction!

What is Event Tracker? <br />Help desk tool built around reported “events” broadly defined as: <br />Bugs<br />Errors<br />Hardware, software, network, or e-mail issues<br />Changes (hardware upgrades, etc.)<br />Requests of any sort (software installation, scheduled maintenance, etc.)<br />

Why Use Event Tracker?<br />Events can be linked to inventoried equipment in TechAtlas.<br />Can group equipment by Library Location (branches or areas within a library) <br />Creates customized help desk tool for your library.<br />Library staff can log events<br />Don’t need your TechAtlas account password.<br />Fast and direct reporting to Tech Support staff<br />Problem/resolution status can be emailed to staff<br />Save “old” events to build a technical knowledge base for your library.<br />

Two Ways to Add Events<br />Issues can recorded in Event Tracker by a user who has the TechAtlas username and password for your library. <br />Events can be added by other staff members using a web-based form. These users do not need to have the TechAtlas username and password for your library’s account to report an issue. <br />
