My Worldview Throughout this course I have learned of many different worldviews. Through
learning of these different worldviews, I have learned that I have a strong Christian worldview. I do
understand that it is very easy to let the other worldviews influence your own worldview. There are
many elements of my worldview that ensure me that I do have a Christian worldview. These
elements are I believe that the Bible is God's word, I believe that God is our creator, I believe we are
not perfect beings, and I believe we are saved though Jesus Christ. The first element of my

commands us to. Thirdly, I do believe we are not perfect beings, and susceptible to temptation and
sin; "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," (Romans 3:23, KJV). God made us in
his image; "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and
female created he them." (Genesis 1:27, KJV), and he made us perfect and blessed us; "And God
blessed them. And God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and
have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living
thing that moves on the earth."" (Genesis 1:28, KJV). Then we fell from grace; "And unto Adam
he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which
I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow
shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;" (Genesis 3:17, KJV). Due to this fall from grace we

Worldview is how you view the world around you and your place in it. Obviously a worldview is
shaped and expanded over the course of a lifetime by many different influences. It is important to
really examine your worldview and support it using many viewpoints. This paper will be made up

Another part of my religion that affects my worldview is the fact we have forgiveness through God.
He sent is one and only son to Earth to die in order to give us salvation through him. That gives
me hope for our world, the fact that we have a choice to follow him and refrain from sin. Another
belief from my religion that influences my worldview is that there is evil in the world.
Especially in today's times, it is easy to see how the world is becoming filled with more and more

worldviews can agree on. Many peoples' worldviews are mainly concerned with materialistic
things because there is no supernatural being; it is merely an arrangement of particles. However,

steeped in my belief of God. However, until I got married 4 years ago, I had never actively

Our worldview is essentially how we see the world around us, it is influenced by our experiences,
how and where we were raised, our religion, the individuals who we surround ourselves with and

My worldview defines how I make decisions and how I filter the events that I encounter in my life.
It is a good idea to take stock in what you believe and why you believe it occasionally. My

My worldview begins from with a biblical view. What does it mean to be human? Genesis 1:27 says,
"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female
created he them" (KJV). Because we were made in the image of God, it is in his Word that we will
find the answer to what it means to be human. Jesus Christ is the source of our true identity and
nature. Romans 8:29 speaks of "being conformed to the image of his Son." Our purpose originally
was to love and fellowship with God. Through the disobedience of Adam and Eve, the sin factor
entered the equation and made humanity prone to sin. When Christ came to earth and died for
our sins, he created the opportunity to be redeemed from those sins. It is only through his grace
that we are able to be reconciled with him. If we drift in life, our human sin nature causes us to
drift away from God. Therefore, we must purpose in our hearts and in our actions to live a life
free of sin and in relationship with the Almighty. When a person lives a repentant life and in daily
relationship with the Almighty, it brings an individual back to his or her original purpose, to love
and fellowship with God. This, then, opens the door to the promises and the miraculous of the
Word of God. For instance, Matthew 11:28 promises that if you simply come to Christ, he will give
you rest. Philippians 4:19 promises that God will meet all of your needs. 1 Peter 2:24 mentions a

Every police officer will usually have to recite the "Oath of Honor" that reads: On my honor, I will

The worldview that I chose to write about is Nihilism. If one has a worldview of Nihilism they
believe in nothing. Nihilism comes from the Latin word nihil, which means nothing. The nihilistic
worldview all amounts to nothing and that the universe is a closed system. If we have a closed
system, right and wrong is subjective, and there is no purpose or goal for us being here, then that
means, logically, that there is no such thing as right or wrong or meaning or purpose.

Since beginning this course in sociology, my worldview has undeniably changed. Sociology is a
subject matter that is implemented into our every day lives. There is no way of escaping social
settings within our society. Whether it is in large groups or small groups it is always a beneficial
standpoint to have. It allows one to look at these situations with more objectivity, rather than always
being passive towards the world's effects. This course has shown me that we shouldn't always just
