    3. 3. Rahul Sharad Dravid On 11th January 1973, in Indore a Kannada couple Sharad and Pushpa Dravid were gifted with a son, they named him Rahul. Rahul’s interest in cricket began to blossom when he was 10 years old. Like most boys his age, he began to knock about with a rubber ball in the streets. But with his considerable talent, it did not take him long to become an indispensable cricketer for his school side.
    4. 4. TARAPORE SPOTTED DRAVID AT A CRICKET CAMP ORGANIZED BY THE KARNATAKA STATE CRICKET ASSOCIATION (KSCA) WHEN HE WAS JUST 11 YEARS OLD, AND A STUDENT AT ST. JOSEPH’S SCHOOL, BANGALORE. The Dravid success Story began to unfold at great speed. He played at the Under-17 And Under-19 circuit, then made his debut in Ranji Trophy in 1991, while a second-year student at the St. Joseph’s College of Commerce in Bangalore. It was a game against Maharashtra, and Dravid, batting at No. 7 stroked a masterful 82. In the very next match, against Bengal he got his maiden first class hundred, a rock-solid 132, this time batting at No.6.
    5. 5.  And these qualities impressed the selectors.  Those watching Dravid play at the domestic level realized here was Mr. Potential walking around in cricket flannels.  His yen for being a perfectionist technically, his sound temperament, his ability to accumulate runs with patience, all augured well for the future of Indian cricket Success at the domestic level

THEN CAME Mr. DEPENDABLE TO THE NATIONAL SIDE  In 1996, Dravid got his hard earned test cap against England at The Lord’s alongside Sourav Ganguly.  It was a match both men will remember for different reasons. Dravid because he missed a century by five runs, Ganguly because he managed to get a ton.
    7. 7.  The 1999 World Cup, was although , not one of the most memorable editions to the mega event as far as Indian team’s performance is concerned, but, it gave Rahul the recognition of a top class ODI batsman for sure.  Emerging as the highest run getter with 461 runs under his belly he made 2 centuries and 3 fifties.  All of them scored at a steady pace and under difficult conditions.     8. 8. 1999-2005 DRAVID’S BEST IN ODI  From Jan. 1999 to Dec. 2005 Dravid played 210 ODI matches and scored 7,134 runs at the average of 42.97 including 10 centuries and 53 half centuries.  This was the highest runs scored by any batsmen in the world in 6 years
    9. 9. MARRIAGE • It was on 4th May 2003 that one of the most eligible bachelors of that time in India decided to get married. • It was an arranged marriage with “Vijeta” a Doctor by profession.

    12. 12. Dravid is the only international cricketer to have staged 10 or more partnerships of hundred runs with four different batsmen (Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, Sehwag and Ganguly). R E C O R D S Dravid holds the world record for taking most number of catches as a non-wicketkeeper fielder in Test Cricket. He retired with a record haul of 210 catches from 164 matches.
    13. 13. INDIA CRICKET TEAM AFTER LOSS IN 2007 WC  As a captain Dravid lead India in 79 ODI matches from them India won 42 & lost 33 & 4 where drawn. In test matches he leaded for 25 won 8, lost 6 and 11 where drawn.  But after bad cricket in West Indies 2007 World Cup he resign from his Captaincy DRAVID AS A CAPTAIN

FLOP SHOW IN INTERNATIONAL CRICKET BUT SUCCESSFULLY ACCEPTED IPL  Dravid played from RCB & RR in which he has done captaincy from both sides.  Dravid played from RCB for 3 years.  But he got fail to captain RCB.so he moved to Rajasthan Royals to lead after Shane Warne’s Resign.  In 2013, Dravid took RR to the Semi Finals.  So far he was a good IPL accepted player at the age of 40 as a Captain & as well as opening batsman.
