  2. 2.  It is a not-for profit incubator based in Kochi, Kerala.  Started on April 2012.  India’s 1st incubator funded Jointly by Public and Private Sector.  Promotors are Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, Technopark, Trivandrum & MobME Wireless.
  3. 3.  Kris Gopalakrishnan, Co-founder of Infosys and an IT entrepreneur from Kerala.
  4. 4.  To launch 1000 technology startups over the next 10 years.  Start the search for next billion-dollar Indian Company.  Till October 2013, Startup village has incubated 450 startups.
  5. 5.  It provides workspace, high-speed internet connection, legal and Intellectual Property services and access to High-profile Investors.  Companies can apply for Startup Village Angel Fund which is approved by SEBI.
  6. 6.  Every month, it holds a community gathering where would be entrepreneurs and investors, innovators and Business persons.  Open house session held by every Saturday.
  7. 7.  In India only 20% are readily employable.  Startup village has rolled out an initiative called DEV- 1000p(pronounced Devlooop).  They aim to create 1000 professional app developers by the end of 2013 and this is open to college students.
  8. 8.  In JAN-2013 startup village and Kerala government launched and initiative called SVSquare.  Every year, the startup village panel would select promising young entrepreneurs form India and send them all expense paid trip to U.S.
  9. 9.  To expose Indian youth to the legendary startup environment in Silicon Valley.  Give chance to interact with some of famous tech gurus and entrepreneurs in the world.
  10. 10.  INDIA ranks 74th in 79 global entreprenurship.  To grow economically-create job and entreprenurial opportunities.  Startup village is the 1st to attempt in creating the direction and its vision to encourage students to move into innovation.
