WORDS FOR THE MEANING CONTEST
There are three groups of Words: action words, naming words and describing words.
Naming Words Action Words Describing Words
Actor: Someone who performs
in plays or films.
Ambition: Something that you
want to achieve in the future.
Antibiotic: Medicine that
doctors give to sick people to
make them better.
Astronaut: Someone who
travels in space in a special
vehicle.
Headache: A pain in your
head.
Bellman: A man whose job is
to open doors and carriage
bags for people in a hotel.
Border: The official line to
separate two countries.
Camel: Large desert animal
with a long neck and one o
two humps.
Custom: The clothes that an
actor wears in a play or film.
Desert: A large area of very
hot dry land with a few plants.
Advice: When you suggest
what someone should do.
Believe: To feel sure that
something is true.
Can: To be able or have the
ability to do something.
Clean: To remove dirt from
something or somewhere.
Dream: To see images and
experience feelings while
sleeping.
Protect: To prevent someone
or something to being
damaged.
See: To look at and notice
things with yours eyes.
Stay: To remain or continue in
the same place.
Tell: To speak to someone and
give him/her some
information.
Steal: To take something that
belongs to someone else.
Brave: Behaving with courage
in a frightening situation.
Broken: Damaged or in pieces
because has been hit or
dropped.
Dark: a place where there is
little or no light.
Expensive: Something that
costs a lot of money.
Gorgeous: Something or
someone very beautiful or
attractive.
Invisible: Something that
cannot be seen.
Strange: Unusual or surprising.
Talented: Having a natural
ability to do something well.
Tired: Feeling that you want to
sleep or rest.
Rude: Speaking or behaving in
a way that is not polite.
