London City• London is the biggest city in Britain and in Europe.• London occupies over 620 square miles• London has a population of 7,172,036 (2001)• About 12 percent of Britain’s overall population live in London• London has the highest population density in Britain, with 4,699 people per square kilometer
  3. 3. The Queen• The Queen is Head of State of the UK and 15 other Commonwealth realms. The elder daughter of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, she was born in 1926 and became Queen at the age of 25, and has reigned through more than five decades of enormous social change and development. The Queen is married to Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and has four children and eight grandchildren.

  11. 11. • Charles Darwin Charles Darwin was a British naturalist of the nineteenth century. He and others developed the theory of evolution. This theory forms the basis for the modern life sciences. Darwins most famous books are The Origin of Species and The Descent of Man.
