You can start your documentation sooner, update it faster, and complete it simultaneously with the product design, giving you lower costs and decreased time to market.<Next Slide>
  • <Note for presenter>This slide has automatic animations timed so you can speak to the slide while the animations appear.Key Points:Composer works seamlessly with SolidWorksUpdates made to a SolidWorks CAD model can automatically update the Composer model and imagesComposer image updates can be quickly and easily updated in any final documentationSpeaker Notes Composer works seamlessly with SolidWorks in a number of ways. SolidWorks models can either be exported from SolidWorks in Composer format, OR, native SolidWorks models can be directly imported and converted inside of Composer. Once a user starts working in Composer, any changes to the original SolidWorks model (made by the SolidWorks user) can be automatically updated in Composer. That way, the Composer model is always up-to-date with the latest approved CAD model, yet the Composer user cannot make changes to the original CAD data, which maintains version control. Finally, when updates are made to the Composer model, all the images saved in Composer get updated as well – this means the user doesn’t have to go back and recreate all the views again, resulting in a huge time-savings. Further, those images can be quickly updated in the final publishing application since they are typically saved as links that can be updated after any changes are made to them.<Next Slide>
  • Slide Message : Enough talk – let’s take a look at the latest release of 3DVIA Composer. Introduce your Application Engineer, his or her experience, what he or she is about to show to the prospect, and why.Speaker Notes :So, with that I would like to hand it over to <AE Name Here> who will let you see the 3DVIA Composer in action. Then, we’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have. Thank you.

It is an easy to use authoring system that is accessible by both technical and non-technical users alike. By putting 3DVIA Composer in the hands of your communication teams, they can free engineers from the task of creating ad hoc product images and focus on what they’re best at – new product design innovation.<Next Slide>
  • SolidWorks 3DVIA Composer was introduced last year and has become the premiere solution for creating content for technical and marketing publications, user manuals, web animations, and even internal assembly instruction videos. Many companies that have embraced 3DVIA Composer tell us that it not only alleviates workloads that engineers experience when supporting the marketing and documentation groups, but also enables product release cycles to be compressed because the product and marketing collateral can be developed in parallel with full associativity – meaning if the design updates, all the technical documents will reflect the changes. In SolidWorks 2010, we enhanced the connectivity with SolidWorks, and increased the capabilities. It is even easier to learn because we added some great examples to help get you started. Let’s take a look.DEMO – 3DVIA Composer RBBeta 2 PowerPoint.
  • So to summarize, if you remember nothing else about today’s presentation, I would like you to remember these 3 key points:<Click>One…3DVIA Composer is a tool for repurposing 3D CAD data to create stunning 2D and 3D visual assets for technical communications such as assembly instructions, product manuals, marketing collateral and training material.<Click>Two…Companies across a broad range of industries can leverage existing 3D CAD data to start documentation sooner, update it faster, and complete it simultaneously with the product design.<Click>And three…you have seen how this allows those companies to lower costs and decrease time to market.<If doing demo next, go to next slide><If no demo, go to Thank You slide>
