  • In the hours following the fire, Region Nine partnered with the City of Madelia and the Madelia Chamber of Commerce
  • Region Nine held weekly meetings with the local media to keep them informed of the needs and progress in Madelia. This was a great relationship builder for our organization and the community of Madelia.
    The City of Madelia is served by one local newspaper.
  • E-mail updates began on February 4th and continued until April 13th
    Recipients were both at the local and state level
    Media outlets requested to be added to the updates
    These email updates served as the Joint Information Center (JIC) for updates regarding the fire
    Region Nine played a vital role for the city as their public information officer
