Objectives:<br />By the end of today’s lesson you should be able to:<br /><ul><li> Identify the people that can influence your involvement in physical activity.</li></li></ul><li>Why did you become involved in sport?<br />What/who has influenced you to take part in sport?<br />Discuss this with the person next to you and find out how they were influenced to take part in sport , then between you write down the different ways you could be influenced - Task 1, Page 2<br />

People<br />Family:<br />A family maybe keen on a particular activity because of family traditions passed on through generations.<br />Parents can have a massive impact on a child’s participation in sport – how?<br />A role model from within the family may be an inspiration to copy.<br />Peers:<br />Peers are people of a similar age. If you have peers who participate in sport you are more likely to get involved.<br />Page 4 – positive and negative influences of peers. In pairs<br />Discussion questions 1<br />Role models:<br />Who is your sporting role model and why?<br />Following a sporting role-model can be the result of an admiration for their sporting skill, personality or lifestyle.<br />

Task 5<br />With a member of the opposite sex you need to complete the following task:<br />Come up with 3 role models from your favorite sports and after discussion with your partner write down why they are your role models.<br />One of your pair will be picked at random to feedback to the class about your role models.<br />
