    2. 2. Fact: <ul><li>The U.S. alone consumes </li></ul><ul><li>380 billion plastic bags each year. </li></ul>
    3. 3. Fact: <ul><li>Many of these plastic bags end up in landfills or in habitats that cause environmental hazards to humans and animals. </li></ul>
    4. 4. Fact: <ul><li>Plastic bags, when recycled, are broken down into polymer beads used to create office/patio furniture and plastic lumber. </li></ul>
    5. 5. Fact: <ul><li>The state of Indiana does not provide plastic-bag recycling. </li></ul>
    6. 6. Fact: <ul><li>Wal-mart is the only store in St. Joseph County that accepts plastic bags for recycling. </li></ul><ul><li>Those bags are shipped to a facility in Ohio for recycling. </li></ul>
    7. 7. Fact: <ul><li>Every two weeks, </li></ul><ul><li>Rocky Mountain Recycling receives </li></ul><ul><li>2 million pounds of plastic bags. </li></ul>
    8. 8. Fact: <ul><li>The value of a plastic bag has tripled in the last five years. </li></ul>
